Painting

Back in 1986, I painted this trawler with Floquil enamel over a glass cloth and resin base, using brushes. Then I sprayed it with Testors clear flattening spray.

At that time, Floquil bottled certain colors in a “Marine” line. I know they disicontinued the Marine line, but I still see their railroad colors on eBay. The main asset of Floquil, was that it was very thin so it wouldn’t cover very fine detailing, yet it still had very good coverage.
So many ships . . . and so little time . . .

That is a tricky one.
As i mix up small amounts The only way i can answer this question is.
I try to get it to the consistency of milk.

I don't know if this helps.

If it looks right it probably is.

Hi Martin555 what setup do you use for spraying?? I have a compressor and a gravity feed touch up spray gun. I am guessing I could use the humbrol thinned paints in my setup..

Hi George83,

I spray my model hulls using Humbrol paint thinned with White Spirit.
Also water based Acrylic paint can be used.

Hi
I use spray can application for primer and finish coat but you need a well vented area to paint or wait for a sunny day with little or no wind to paint outdoors.
