I expect this is a bit late but I spent a good deal of time confused the other day, trying to bind my Planet rx to a tx- it wouldn't bind, so I went back to the instructions and noticed that I had the tx on while pressing the micro switch on the rx.
So I would say, always have tx off, rx on, press micro switch, then tx on, when binding will occur! Always best to follow the instructions, I feel. it's all fun though.

The Planet is one of the easiest sets to bind the transmitter to the receiver. Unlike some other sets there is no connecting up of transmitters and receivers and no button to press on the transmitter. 👍
The instructions say; Switch off the transmitter. Switch on the receiver and press the bind button on the receiver - the LED will flash 3 times; Switch on the transmitter. The receiver LED will change to solid green - the system is now bound. 😊
Personally I have obtained a bound receiver by just pressing the bind button on the receiver whilst the transmitter is switched on. This can lead to problems if you are doing this at say the boating lake where other Planet sets may be operating.
From my personal experience the receiver will bind to any Planet transmitter switched on so if you follow the instructions in the company of others with the same equipment there is a good chance that your receiver will bind to another transmitter. 😰
Binding is probably best undertaken at home where there is little chance of any interfering signals. 😀

Yep, Agree with that. But make sure you hit the reciever button as soon as you can after switching on the transmitter, as thetransmitter only sends out its "latching signal" for a short time. but if you miss it first time, then switch off the transmitter and back on again. 👍 👍 👍
Best wishes.
