Hi Colin, welcome to our wonderful madhouse.
I do hope you continue to enjoy your hobby and share your progress and pictures with us.
I too have a Swordsman, and the wife has a Huntsman. As well as a few other boats.
Knowledge abounds on here and whatever your questions we do our best to help.
Next time you see captain grumpy have your torpedoes loaded.
Cheers Colin and Caroline.
Fair winds and calm waters,
COLIN.

Hi Colin.
It would have been appropriate to have bumped into this member, accidentally of course, and SPLASH. This is not normal. I remember years ago, I went to the local club on a Sunday and they were falling over themselves to help. Unfortunately, the Torbay area no longer has a club due to a lack of suitable facilities. Not true but that is Councils for you.
It would be nice to see your projects. Is it possible to upload some pictures. You have done very well to complete that lot so quickly. It takes me a year for one.
Peter.👍
I cannot promise to finish one project before starting another. I know, I tried.

Hi Colin P,
Welcome aboard this club!
Don't be put off by your unlucky first encounter with the one surly b****r who is the exception that proves the rule🤔 He probably was a loner and not even a club member.
I assume that you were at the lake in Eaton Park?
There seems to be an excellent club there and I believe that several members are also on this site. You can check out the club here
https://www.norwichmodelboatclub.com/
The club is also listed here on this site with testimonials from some members.

Stick with it Colin👍
We're all itching to see your creations!! Plenty of Swordsman and Huntsman fans here😊
All the best, Doug 😎
Young at heart 😉 Slightly older in other places.😊 Cheers Doug

hi Colin.
Please do not be put off by the response of this member.
I can't believe that this would apply to other club members.
I have always found club members falling over themselves to help in any way.
Can you show us some of your projects.
Mr interested.

Hi Colin P,
Sorry that you have had a bad experience.
Not every club is like that but unfortunately you do get the occasional one that thinks he owns everything and knows it all.

It will be a big shame if you let this bloke put you off model making.

Most clubs are happy to help and to have a new member join.

I am sure the members on this site will love to see your work, and if you have any questions then i think this is the best place to ask them.
The members on this site are very knowledgeable and a very friendly bunch.

Martin555.
If it looks right it probably is.

Hello every one, always fancied building and sailing model boats with lockdown and not working since March why not have a go with slec being local one swordsman purchased.people at spec could not have been more friendly and very helpful, built in a couple of weeks got the bug huntsman next very happy with results both look great.Pegasus models in norwich supplied motors esc and radio gear also so very helpful to this novice .another boat to spec and came away with and arrow this has built up splendidly.printed off some numbers and graphics and looks every inch like a 70s offshore boat.but the crunch came today after a quick visit to Pegasus models ever helpful again thought I might track down Norwich boat lake what a amazing location superb lake a fellow was about to sail a yacht being there I thought I would ask a couple of questions this chap said he was a member of club but was an awfull bloke who seemed to belive he had soul rights and I was very discouraging if this is how this hobby is I would be surprised if anyone New took it up I think my little flotilla is more likely to see eBay rather than water☹️
