Flags

I've not used any flags other than BECK ones, but have had some success in making them more realistic looking. First use a good fabric glue on the edges before trimming them. Glues made specifically for attaching lettering to T-shirts from a craft store works best. After the glue dries throughly rinse the flag a number of times in warm water. This seems to ta key some of the sizing (stiffness) out of the fabric. Them glue the thread into the fold at the leading edge of the flag. After the flag is attached to the flagstaff you can re-wet the flag and shape it a bit more if needed. The key is using a waterproof glue at the start. The more often the flag is "washed" the softer it gets. BTW - Cornwall Model Boats in the UK purchased all of the BECC "legacy" stock last year and their prices aren't bad.
Hope at least some of this helps

Flags

Hello chaps,
Although not in imminent ( is that correctly spelt?).need,I would like a decent flag/flags on my crash tender.
I have bought becc flag before, and found it stiff, flimsy, and generally unrealistic.I paid too much from an Australian supplier which was also pretty poor.
Can anyone recommend a good supplier (in this case an RAF flag)
Doc.
