Plans Question

Quite agree with Ian and Martin Sambini.
It would be very difficult for us to condense chapters, or indeed a whole book, into one concise Post to answer your question.🤔

Which vessel is your plan for?
Displacement hull?
Round bilge?
Planing hull?
Hard chine?
These basic questions help define if you need a planked hull or if a skinned hull (much easier😀) is possible.
Have a look around here, might give you some pointers and inspiration😉

Plans Question

Hi Sambini,
I agree with Ian.
More information would really help as there are a few methods for hull construction.

If it looks right it probably is.

Plans Question

Hi,

It seems a shame that no-one has responded to your post but I suspect it is because it isn't quite clear what you are asking. If you haven't built a static model before it might be a good idea to start with a relatively simple kit so that you get the idea of how a framed and planked hull goes together.

If you aren't clear about how a ship's lines plan works there are a good number of books on the subject and a quick Google search will throw up any number. You can learn pretty much all you need to know about lines planes from Vic Smeed's early book Power Model Boats where he explains on pages 16 and 17 how a lines plan works. Copies are always being sold on ebay.

Keith Julier has also written a useful book about building static models from kits and there are many others.

Without a bit more information as to where you are in the process and what you are hoping to do it will be difficult to help with specific advice but I hope you manage to find out what you need to know and make some progress.

Plans Question

How do I take a set of plans and design how the frames and keel go together? I am wanting to build static models.

Thanks
