If it looks right it probably is.
Thanks for your time Martin but I've just found out that I can purchase these motors direct from Dean's Marine. The kit in question is the air sea rescue"128"
Thanks again for looking.

For all of my fast launch or patrol/torpedo boats I use outrunner brushless motor set ups with lipo batteries as they are much more powerful and efficient than brushed motors. This gives good scale planing speeds at partial throttle with lots of extra power when needed. From Hobbyking they are quite cheap and reliable when used correctly. As model gets bigger the brushless outrunner set up becomes much more effective compared to brushed as greatly increased torque from whole weight of motor rotating with shaft.

Mon Plaisir Martin 😉
The model is of a 63ft Type 2 HSL.

She was based in Malta, probably Sliema or Marsaxlokk on the south coast.
(A pretty fishing village with a great weekend market BTW 😊)

Hi OD,
Black 5 motors are sold by Deans (surprise surprise 🙄)
http://deansmarine.co.uk/shop/product_info.php/cPath/5_13/products_id/206
Looks like a decent meaty motor, and with 5 poles will be good for smooth starts and plenty of torque to GET GOING!!
Don't forget the Build Blog 👍
Cheers, Doug 😎
