Cabin cruiser hull?

Hey doug - thanks so much for all this info! Bluebird is close, but i think when i get round to the build i'm going to see if i can get plans for Mistral as it's just that bit broader in the beam and is closer to the Breda 😊

Cabin cruiser hull?

PS!
Nick, I just discovered that I also have the January 1992 issue of MB mag, which includes part 4 of David Metcalf's series on building Bluebird.
Of interest are the corrections included, following the owners review of the drawings and the prototype model! Notably; the real boat had only one rudder not two as on the first model. Oops 🤔 I'm about to scan this article - more later.

@ Colin H: recently you enquired about plans for 'Lady Jay'.
While hunting around I had also thought of this plan as being the nearest available and relatively easy to mod to 'Lady Jay'.

Cheers, Doug 😎

Cabin cruiser hull?

Hi Nick,
I too have an 'original copy' 😁 of the David Metcalf 'Super-plan' MM1449, as they were called back then, for Bluebird of Chelsea. It came with the October 1991 issue of Model Boats, which I still have, back in the Argus Specialist Publication (ASP) days. It seems that Sarik have bought the rights to the plan, as they have done for so many others🙄
The plan is printed in blue with red text and dimensions, double sided on a single sheet ~81 x 58.5cm. See photos 1&2.
Attached are also A3 (two page) scans of the initial article from MB mag giving lots of history of the boat and showing the (then) much restored/rebuilt current status and details of external and internal fittings, as well as initial building tips. Maybe red can fill in the other five articles?

It would appear that ASP offered both plan and parts kits, an option being a vac formed hull in two parts and styrene sheet to make the rest from! Wonder if Sarik took those over as well?
PM me your address and I'll post you the plan, with the mag as well if you want.
I will surely never build this boat. Already got more on the go and in my stash than I'm ever likely to be able to finish!
All the best, Doug 😎
PS If you prefer just the plan electronically then I can scan it on to 8 A3 sheets.
Hope you have an A3 printer!😉

If you look for free plans for Mistral on the web would be a lot cheaper than Sarik . Very similar Motor Yacht - might even have them in my collection (PM me). Have the paper plans for Bluebird of Chelsea and the build article which ran over six issues of Model Boats. However not yet digitised as its got a little expensive now.

That sounds good Nick.
There seems to be quite a few photos on the net for the 'Bluebird of Chelsea' for reference.

If it looks right it probably is.

Cabin cruiser hull?

Brilliant - thanks Martin - very similar and some great reference shots! - i think i may have tracked down something that's pretty close - the 'Bluebird of Chelsea' which Sarik do plans and a parts set for - right length, just slightly narrower in the beam which I may be able to adjust if and when I build her 😊

Cabin cruiser hull?

Hi all - I'm after some help...

I'd like to build a specific twin screw cabin cruiser (see images). I'd like to build it in 1/24 scale, so the hull length would be 26" and the beam 6.5". Does anyone know of any plans, hull sets or fibre glass hulls that would be close to what I'm after? Thanks in advance for your help 😊
