Thanks Mimbrit, and much appreciated, that really is a very nice boat with lots of fine detail especially with regard to the masts, guns, and rigging. I dare say you are happy and the wait was worthwhile, a few more photos would not go amiss, and just one comment which is are you going to replace the covers on the lifeboats? If the answer is yes then find some suitable material, stretch it tightly over the boat with neat folds at the back end, and using a needle and thread run stitches the full length of the boat underneath, and when nicely tensioned cover the material with spray-on satin varnish, then cut off the excess material and there you have it new boat covers. I shall send a photo shortly. Regards, Gary.

Hi Mimbrit.
Sounds like for obvious family reasons you have a passion for this tug.
Even if you manage to get the civilian version, then we can all assist you in any conversions that may need doing.
We are all here to help.
Regards Bill.

Thank you to all who made useful suggestions, and especially to Howard who pointed me in the direction of one in Lincoln which I am delighted to have bought 👍

Thanks Gary. I have been watching that (and it is nearby) but it is the civvy version and the naval armaments in the right scale look difficult to come by. I missed a naval version in May and will just have to be patient!

Check out eBay, I found one on there The Dexterous a Model Slipway kit, just completed and up for sale, and a very nice looking boat.

My dad served in these in WWII and I would like to find a model of one if anyone is ready to part with theirs. It would be for display purposes only, so unimportant if a non-runner or in need of repair/refurbishment.

Thanks for reading.
