This Higgins PT boat was built and sailed by a good friend of mine. it is scratch-built. it uses a single Turnigy 3639 1100kV brushless motor and LiPo battery. it is pretty new and has not had its number painted on as yet. its performance is excellent.

In July 2015 the 26ft Firefly sailed from Ramsgate to Dunkirk with a fleet of some 50 other Members of the Association of Dunkirk Little Ships to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the evacuation.
These little ships have an admiralty warrant to fly the St Geoge's Cross at the stemhead, a unique honour! (google images have lots of pics of her)
Lovely model............Lemmerhengst

Some of my boats during a last weekend outing. Boats are at My Harbour. The blue boat (Fishfully Thinking") is based upon American-made Chris Craft 30 Tournament Fisherman, Stamas 32 sedan, and Bertram 28 boats. The yellow boat ("Cheapskate") is partially based upon a Bertram 31 sedan. The white vessel ("Juyilanga") was inspired on now defunct company's Uniflite 28-footer "Salty Dog" sport fisherman. Last but not least, the pink boat ("Pinkey Pie") belongs to my daughter and was built using an old Graupner kit inspired on a Chris Craft Roamer of the mid 60s. 😁

Hello Doug! Actually, not in Juyilanga but in Fishfull Thinking. I took a line here and there from our plan for the superstructure. I utilized ABS plastic instead of wood. No need to mess with fiberglassing and no cracking on the Alpine cold waters. Notice that I used the same type of hull on these two boats. Happens that Fishfull Thinking was originally another boat I had, but not happy with the superstructure, I rebuilt the whole thing but kept its fiberglass hull almost intact. Both hulls were home made by a guy in California. 😁

A short selection of the flower class corvettes of the Portsmouth Model Boat Display Team. All made from the same 1/48 hull mould, they are not exact replicas - more designed to look 'good' on the water. Finely detailed models do not tend to remain finely detailed for long with the abuse the Team puts them through!
I am going through the photo collection and having a good sort out and reorganisation (thanks to my old laptop crashing) amd will post more as I can.

Zoom 1 (Interceptor) Mono boat.
Built from a Glassfibre hull, brought on Ebay for £35 the hull is a slim mono racing type with a self-righting side cabin it runs a 1400W 14V 2958 4200KV Brushless Motor and 29-S Water Cooling Jacket with additional air cooling fan.
I did not want to use a flexi drive as high maintenance and prone to failure so the shaft runs via two universal joint one at each end. the propeller is a 38mm copper alloy
The ESC is a 200W and water cooled the twin rudders supply separate water one for the motor and one for the ESC.
The rudder are positioned to reduce prop-walk and are hinged to prevent damage if you hit a object in the water and also for ride adjustment.
Turn fins and trim tabs for ride adjustment were provided by a spares kit for another boat. also foamed and added an inner sealed hatch, a rubber bump strip and safety loop.
