- rustypistonLeading SeamanBeautiful wood work on the life boat, outstanding!!Beautiful wood work on the life boat, outstanding!!
This is modelled from the interceptor42 range by Safehaven Marine. This is my first full build of a model, having only done restorations previously.
Model length is some 42 inch, beam of 12 inch. (106cm x 31cm)
Power is by twin E-Max BL2826 Brushless motors and 1, 80amp speed controller running on 2 NiMH 7.2 volts.
Fitted with Action electronics Police siren, and with detailed rotating blue lights and searchlights.
I sail this at Cold Knap Lake Barry Vale of Glamorgan, and I am the Founding member of the Vale Of Glamorgan Model Boat Club.
Also included is my Portland Pilot interceptor 42 which was the original prototype from Models by Design which I purchased and added lighting etc, this runs on Brushless motor running on 12Volt lead acid.

Cheap second hand commercial speed boat steered by shutting down port or starboard motors and only on/off on pretend transmitter.
Now modified with proper ESC, 2.4 radio with servo operated rudder and upgraded to take 8.4v NiCad.
Length: 30 inches_ Not yet sailed in modified form !
- BOATSHEDCaptainLooks like a nice mod on her. I have one but wasn't happy with it as it didn't have a very good radio range. But did go quite well in the radio range she had. That should be a lot better now you have done this to her. I gave my brother one that I got from a boot fair that cost me a £5er. He ripped out the insides and has fitted it with a small brushless motor and 2.4gh radio and it is not so much a hooligan but more of a total maniac. But good fun.Looks like a nice mod on her. It won best in show in the navy boat section at our club due to the detail and the figures so can't be bad
- figtree7ntsAdmiralSo, Cool I've never seen a camera boat before. 👍So, Cool I've never seen a camera boat before. 👍
Model was a delight to research and build, particularly appreciate the assistance of the Roker Park club some of whose members might have helped build her
She is not mega fast but sails well as you can see from the video.
- JeremyBBMaster SeamanLooks great and beautifully finished 😊 . I am currently building the 34.5" Lesro model of this boat and would very much like to see some photos of your model. it would provide me with an excellent guide as to how it should look in detail. Would it be possible for you to send these to me by email or post them on the site?Looks great and beautifully finished 😊 .
