Is a Footy considered a Yacht?
Just picked this up locally from a friend. Looking forward to taking it out to a swimming pool before sailing in the lake.

As they say oop north in England.
Ay up Baggie, tha's got some reet nice boating locations around you m'laddie.
They look cracking places to sail yachts or motor boats to your hearts content. We have to fight for any piece of water round here with the anglers, golf courses, and private lakes.
    I'm getting very envious 😊

Throstle is a Draginforce65 yacht I am loving getting used to sailing her...discovering how she handles and improving my skills. Everyone I meet is so friendly too at the Norwich Boat club. Eating Park boating lake is a fabulous place... you must try it. I promise you will not be disappointed. Great relaxing cafe in the park too! Boing boing Baggies! 👍

M12
My friend, Ewald Bengel, and I both have M12 class sailboats; 42" length, weighing 16+lbs, designed for sailing in weedy ponds or lakes. We took them to his cottage and sailed them in deep water on Oak Lake north of Havelock, Ontario, Canada. A Great afternoon of sailing!

These Canadian Geese slipped into the pond when I was sailing today. They left the boat alone, but was told if they got irritated my sailboat would be attacked. Guess I shall keep my distance, eh!

From the photo it seems they and you were minding your own business not disturbing each other keeping your distances. I would imagin if you went for or toward them they would get aggressive but it's all nature and we're there to enjoy - great photo and experience thanks

Where our group sails we also have a couple of swans in the water. If we stay away from them they do not get upset. As soon as we arrive to float our boats the ducks move away.Just waiting for the ice to clear so we can have our regular Tuesday mornings.

Mini-12
Sailing on the pond at the former Canterbury Golf Club, Port Perry, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦

This is a Mini-12 Sailboat designed for sailing in weedy ponds. The rudder is attached to its shorter keel and weighs 12lbs+, and 42" length. it uses the Soling mast and sail area.

I am still learning how to handle this boat but it is sure fun!

Nice setting. I see you use pond yacht type hulls. We have to in the summer due to floating weed in our lake.
Is this a kit or scratch built?
Certainly looks fun and I see you are training the mate for his masters ticket!

    Hi JTodd
Perhaps I should have explained better when I pointed you in that direction.
The intention of the Build Blog is to allow you to post details and Pics as you build so our members can share your experience. it works fine if used in this way and there are plenty of Build Blogs in support of this.
You can easily add to your build blog and give each addition a title relevant to the build, plus any written comments and pics, this then allows others to follow your progress.
Stephen is possibly on holiday but will be able to advise you on his return.
If the weather over your side of the pond is anything like the UK your Constellation has possibly been in the doldrums, our Schooners on my sailing lake certainly have!
I look forward to many more posts showing your models and building skills.
    Regards
    Dave

BRAVO ZULU! Very fine replica sir. As small boy, I invested many hours in the basement on Dad's workbench to construct the Revell plastic kit of USS CONSTITUTION. I remember the detail of that model and subsequent plastic & wooden builds, so I can fathom the painstaking effort it involved to create this work of art. Thank you.
