They are very detailed plans and will enable you to build a very realistic model. You will need to make certain modifications to model Olympic but really the external differences are few, most notably the missing enclosed fore part of the quarter deck. The plans are on six sheets of about 18ft by 3ft so an email would not be possible, and are copyright protected. As far as I know the plans are still available, we paid about £200, and I will email you the address if you send me a personal message. I am still researching details on the Olympic as she had many modifications over the years, particularily to the lifeboats and I am still not convinced my version is correct at present. I am modelling around 1912/13 and good pictures are hard to come by.

- tompallisterPetty Officer 1st ClassI used the extremely good drawings in the plans sold on the model boats magazine shop web site. As you say, easily copies at staples so can even be used as a template when copied. Good luck with your project.I used the extremely good drawings in the plans sold on the model boats magazine shop web site. - FirenutAble SeamanMany thanks, I prob have not researched enough at the start just wanted to crack on with something. Not even looked in a model magazine, though visited a few local clubs on sail day. Many thanks, I prob have not researched enough at the start just wanted to crack on with something. Regards Andy - alan44Chief Petty Officer 2nd ClassThanks Andy for your comments. I will put some better pictures up soon. Still some detail work left to complete. I do get to some shows when I can. Last one was Ellesmere port. Any questions you have please ask. I will be taking her to the fire boat day later this year. Regards AlanThanks Andy for your comments. She,s a 1/80 scale scratch built cargo ship of the Port line company from around the 1950,
A ship this size requieres quite a bit of balast, I use water, it takes around 40 lds to get her sitting right, this is pumped in and out with a submersible caravan water pump.
Most of the fittings are resin castings.
there are a few more bits to finnish off but could not resist the chance to try her out on the Chasewater pool.
This was it's Maiden run, at Herbert Woods Boatyard, at Potter Heigham Norfolk. it ran very nicely, but can do with a little tweaking to get more speed.
For the record, I did not swear, it was someone onlooking.

Fitted with twin 900 motors, twin 14.8 lipo batteries and a full action electronics power package AND sound system. it sounds as well as it goes !
- GreggSub-LieutenantThe size of speaker all depends on available space. if you fit the biggest possible speaker Im a cramped position, its never going to give out maximum output, as objects in front of it will disperse the sound waves, so in this instance, its far better tio fit a smaller speaker and be able to allow free space for the sound waves to exit properly. The size of speaker all depends on available space. if you fit the biggest possible speaker Im a cramped position, its never going to give out maximum output, as objects in front of it will disperse the sound waves, so in this instance, its far better tio fit a smaller speaker and be able to allow free space for the sound waves to exit properly. Obviously, if you can fit the bigger version, its gives more bass and sounds far better. remember to install the speaker on a firm base plate and ensure this fits neatly to wherever you have decided to install. now to create the "speaker sound box". if you think of an ordinary speaker at home on your stereo or surround sound system, it is in a sealed box [or cabinet], well same applies to get optimum performance out of a speaker in your boat too. I fitted mine in the bows of the Mersey, facing the stern, and used the "not used" bow section as the sound box, you also have the deadening effect of the water, which aids the sound output out of the speaker. remember to make an "air port" in the speaker plate, to allow air "in/out" too, not too big or small a hole mind. the better you create the sound box and make sure the space in front of the speaker is clear, the better the sound output. best of luck. Incidentally, I have now purchased an m troniks version, I WAS going to install in another "smaller" boat, but after listening to it, I dont think I'll bother and save up for another action system and stick the mtroniks one on ebay!

- GreyWolfLeading SeamanHI Franklyn 👍 Great looking water line model, plenty of detail, must have taken ages to complete? Kit or scratch build? Keep up the good work. When we had a problem with a part of the MTB 77 instructions a call to Ron Dean bought the reply ,ignore that bit, those plans apply to several boats!
Having said that I would not hesitate to purchase a Deans kit in future as I am confident that I can overcome any problems that may arise with the help of good people like youself and the experience already gained. In any case if it was easy it would'nt be worth doing in my opinion.
Thanks again Andy.
