I built this vessel from scratch using a pre made clinker fibreglass hull purchased from Mini Steam Australia. The engine is an oscillating twin cylinder and the boiler is a 3" Centre Flue Gas Fired Vertical Boiler from "Miniature Steam". The gas tank is a 1-1/2" vertical refillable GasTank also from Miniature Steam Pty. Australia. The vessel is radio controlled with the skipper appearing to control the rudder. it has a smoke generator and a rc controlled steam whistle.

I've been building this Billings kit for some years now. [laid the keel in 2007 !!] but I'm slowly getting there. I've just recently joined this Website so not sure if this is the correct place to post some pictures of this build plus a yacht and steam launch. I'll start here anyway and no doubt someone will advise me for future postings.

Wahine was a car passenger ferry of the Union Steamship Co. of New Zealand, and completed by Fairfields in 1966. She was lost in a major storm in the Cook Strait in 1968 with the death of 53 people. The model is substantially scratch-built with some fittings purchased. it is driven by two Graupner Speed 500 motors powered from two 6.6V 3200mAh LiFe batteries. it is fitted with twin stern and a single bow rudders, and bow and stern thrusters as on the original. The smoke effect is provided by a Steam Master Unit.

Finished my first boiler with home made engine and reversing valve small leak on main steam valve still to cure but other than that all is well. Am I a happy bunny!

Model of quarterwheeler Lulonga.Smilar ships sailed along African rivers, were built in the UK, France and Germany.Usually they used to be smaller paddle steamers with a little draught.

Stolen Boat. Please be on the lookout for this beautiful KRICK VICTORIA complete with a Chedder Puffin Steam Unit, This boat was stolen from a member of the Mutual Model Boat Society, Heywood, Manchester. when some scumbag broke into his workshop over the weekend of 5th 6th September 2015. as well as his pride and joy they also stole a Spektrum DX6I / 3 x 40Mg / 2x27 Mg Tx's, plus tools???.

Today Lulonga River steamer passed further navigation tests after replacing the ESC.(the new ESC are from HK...), working well,
The electronics work reliably, problems with stability again, but this time with a transverse stability. Since the superstructures that I built are quite heavy, and the model also has a flat bottom, so setting up a balanced position is very sensitive, and somehow I can not.
I try to stick around under the bottom of the line model, additional load.
Perhaps it will also help the exchange wheel

1/12 scale kit from Metcalf moulding the most difficult part on this model was the rudder section,you have got to get it right because once fitted the deck goes on and there is no turning back,it has 2 X 550 motors on 8.4 sails very well,not to fast but not to slow either,I sail at king Lear model boat club in leicester when I get a chance,lovely big lake all type of vessels on water,eg"

Built from a plan in 'Model Boats' in the 80's with a balsa hull and ply decking. Powered by a single cylinder 'Unit Steam Engine' from the same era, and a meths fired boiler. Only recently has radio control been added.

KaSaBon, Caldercraft Riverman, 30 inches long. Has been left on shelf since I acquired it awaiting some TLC. Not done too much to it as. Thinking of modifying the wheel house and putting in steam funnel etc
