Building a "Springer" tug based on a real truckable push-boat

A true "Springer" push boat is a "one design" model, that is there are specifications that are in place to equalize the models so they are more competitive. This includes the specific hull shape and dimensions, rudder, propeller, motor, and battery as well as a few other minor rules.

However, these specifications can be used to build a scale looking model. As the specs deal mostly with below the water line and internal rules, virtually everything on the deck and above are subject to the builder's discretion.

The attached document shows the path I took on one such "Springer" model.
