Brooklyn is finally completed!
It took me 8 months to assemble her!
The Brooklyn is a very nice kit!
I don't know how much she's going to weigh.
I don't have a scale! But I do have lead shots!
A lot of lead BB's about 14,400 BB's!
So, anyone that want to figure that out in weight.
Please let me know!
The bollards are now glued in place!
That was my last step on the Brooklyn.

I think the best thing to do.
Is get someone else to carry it!
I have a wagon I'm going to cut a notch into.
That way I can pull it to the pond!
Now, How do I get it down to the ground floor?
It's always something with these models.....
I think I'll get a smaller boat!
Maybe a pilot boat......

I decided to put Tug Brooklyn back in the tub!
Just to see how everything works!
Luckily This didn't happen at the pond.
The grub screw that holds.
The collar aft of the dog bone.
Loosened up after about 20 minute of 1/2 ahead!
I made a notch on the shaft.
And retighted the grub screw!
Would anybody recommend lock tight to be used?

I just got back from the park!
The wife and I go for a walk.
Three time a day!
We ended up at our local park!
Of course I planed it, like that!
I wanted to see if there was any weeds or algae.
Guess I'm lucky. There wasn't any at all!
Just about a dozen ducks that's all.
Looks as if her Maiden Voyage. Will be in about two weeks!
It takes a lot of planning. When your model weighs 15-16 lbs.
And you live on a third floor with no elevator!😱😲😤😭
One way or another. Brooklyn's having a Maiden Voyage!

I have a spare corset (!) with a steel bracing plate left over from an old severe back injury if you need one!
You could even use the plate as ballast 😁😁

I finally got the Steam Whistle for the Brooklyn!
It's made by RAM! it's a RAM80 to be exact!
It's not a bad device at all.
It sounds quite loud!
But I haven't tested it outside yet!
I left all the Portholes opened on the Brooklyn.
So, that helps a lot with the Steam Whistle sound!

Ok, I like to float Tug Brooklyn!
Last night I did this.
I filled the tub with water.
Then placed Tug Brooklyn.
I left it alone for about half an hour.
When I came back.
I started looking at her.
She looked different in some way.
I hadn't realized she was taking on water.
anyway I looked at her water line.
And her water line was below the water!
I then took her superstructure.
Off of her when I looked inside.
I was shocked to find.
She had taken on more than 12 ounces of water!
I then started to panic!
I went and got my syringe.
Which I had purchased just in case water ever got into her.
And started pumping out all the water she had in her!
I'm not sure where she's leaking from!
Or why she is leaking!
There's only one opening in the Hull.
And that's where the shaft comes out of!
Going to have to do another float test.
to see where the water is coming in from!
I'm glad I discovered this before next boating season!

I have found where the leak is coming from!
It's coming from above the shaft as it exits the hull!
I'm not sure why it's leaking.
The area is tricky to get to.
As it's deep in the hull!
An hard to get to.
Since the hull is made of plastic.
Am thinking of making a flange plate!
And gluing it to the aft end of the hull
On the outside of the hull!
But, of course need to see where the leak.
Is coming from the outside...….
I have already looked into getting a water pump.
Also a water detection circuit to activate the pump!

Tilt the boat up and just pour two part epoxy into this area. I always do this, first I glue tack the stuffing tube to insure alignment. Then pour in the epoxy usually along with lead bird shot or bb's for ballast.

I think she's leaking from where the prop shaft.
comes out of the Boss!
So, I'm going to make a flange.
Which will be the same size as the Boss.
And will cover the Boss!

It has cracked under stress!😲😡😭
So, what I plan to do.
It strip the paint in that area.
And glue a piece shaped like the seam and Boss!😁😁😁
But, for this I have to take everything out of the hull.
The hull will be light and easy to work with then!

It's good to do a Domesticated Test Tank Test!
As often as possible. if a leak is going to develop.
Better for it to develop in the DTTT!
Than for it to happen 125 meters into the pond!

Well, today was a good day to fix.
The leak in Brooklyn's aft end!
I scraped off the paint around the skeg area and boss!
I then took a piece of 10mm x 110mm plastic.
And glued it to the seam. Making sure to cover the area.
That was cracked and leaking!
I am then going to let the glue set over night.
If all goes well, the leak should stop.....
I will reassemble her aft end.
And do a Domestic Test Tank Test!
If the Test Succeeds.
I will then repaint the aft end of the tug!
And put all of her Ballast back and her batteries!
Hope my repair works!!!
