Just ordered the Hull from Hong Kong, when she arrives, I intend to install a 3600kv or 5050kv, not sure which one to use yet, either way it will be through a 4mm flexI shaft to a 115mm strudder

No Problem. it seems that the flexI drives dont have any issues when used with brushed motors, as they dont rev too high, but once you start talking brushless and in excess of 22,000 rpms, the nylon liner just overheats and melts against the steel flexI and locks the thing up. the fact that you hardly get any "pre warning" of it doing so is a real bugger, it simply locks up and "end of run", with luck, you've just ruined a drive, worst of luck it shocks the motor and rips the magnets in to the outer windings.
Both myself and no doubts other forum members look forward to the new build once it arrives with you.
Hull has now arrived, and very nice it is, I have decided to use the 3600kv as there is not room for two batteries, it will now have a straight shaft and an offset wedge rudder.

Have mounted the motor on the mount provided, along with the servo.By using the 3600kv over the 5050kv, It will only need one battery, as the 5050kv draws 120A max, as opposed to the 3600kv that draws 55A max. the batteries I have are 50C-100C, In both 7.4v and 11.1v.

Please send me some photos of the products you use and how you do it. Possibly a sketch too. I do not use Rc plane components but that sounds interesting.

Thanks Roy for these suggestions for sourcing various items. During Covid19 all hobby stores, (non-essential businesses) are required to be closed. People say use Amazon, but I like to see and pick-up the items before spend my money.
I understand Amazon workers walked out world wide because of working conditions and the lack of isolation, and PPE personal protection equipment. This will effect shipment delays !

Ron here,
Royce, I see no boats in your harbour. Would you be able to post some of your work that you write about?
I was concerned with the old kit wood too. None of the printed sheets are cracked or show signs of checking. The Mahogany strips seem fine too; will see as the build continues.
First though is cutting out the parts from the printed sheets. At least it is not Balsa.🤓
