Re: Inga masts.

Your most welcome Roy, Thankyou, your a gentleman.
Only this moment has a parcel arrived from the Leeds model shop with lots of goodies in.
I ordered some sheet mahogany to construct the rear cabin. Do you think it’s wise while I’m at it to make the structure in two halves so access is possible without dismantling the rear mast structure?
Regards Roger.

Re: Inga masts.

Yes I have a selection of magnets in stock and with small tapering dowels I think I can work something out. I have this afternoon received a full set of plans and English instructions, so a little bed time reading and I should have the jist of things. As for the booms I will sort this in good time, for the next couple of weeks I will concentrate on the main structure and masts with their associated fittings that will need fabricating, but thanks for the heads up on that. Roger

Re: Inga masts.

Hi there
The decking fortunately, was complete on purchase. I’ve just wiped it over with a damp cloth to get the dirt off. It looks like it is individual planking with a sort of black plastic caulking between which is slightly raised above the planks. Which seems odd to me,I would have thought they should be flat!.
While I’m writing can I ask, one thing is pecking at my head, it is , at the top of the main and mizzen sail when the sail is slid into the mast groove, what holds it up to the mast top. I cannot on the drawings or instructions find any mention. In other words what stops the sail sliding back down the mast groove?

Re: Inga masts.

Re gooseneck fittings. I am at the moment fabricating these I’ve just finished the mast tops,.just need to clean the excess solder off. I have imminent delivery of brass screw eyes and 2mm brass nut and bolts. It’s all coming together,

Re: Sailing

Hello Roy
I think we may have had a similar conversation years ago and please don
t think I am being a smart ass but in the 80
s and into the 90`s I crewed for a friend firstly on his Nauter Swan 391 "Eclipse 80" and later on his Swan 55 also named "Eclipse". This was both cruising and racing and included 3 trips from the boats home in Kingswear Devon to the Med or back.
I have more recently owned my own 26 foot long keeled sloop well known in and around Holyhead and called Pearl.
The age I am now I am quite happy to poodle around in my workroom surrounded by model boats.
I hope this note is taken in friendship as it is intended.
Best regards Chris

Re: Will Everard

I can remember both Will and the Cambria ( Bob Roberts?) docking in Gt Yarmouth when I was a spotty youth!

Re: ZN409

Thanks Roy, it's very kind of you but I can't accept because in addition to the chip you would also pay the shipping costs.
I really appreciate the thought (for me it's as if you had already given it to me) and if it leads to reciprocating in the future I will gladly do so, you are truly very kind.
Don't worry, it's not an urgent project, maybe I'll leave it there for a long time because I'm not retired.

Re: ZN409

Thanks Roy, thanks so much, I'll keep that in mind.

If I don't receive any other input on ESC diagrams, I could ask you for the chip and then we'll see how to proceed with shipping.
In the meantime don't feel obligated, if you want to give it to someone else who is England and can take it themselves, go ahead.

I have the 78XX and 555 chips too and they are still easy to find, but thanks for that too.
