A BIT MORE AIRBOAT FUN
A bit windier this time (10-15 mph) but it's not built to sit on a shelf, so having made a few adjustments I thought I'd risk it. It tried playing submarine a few times after a spin but handled the wind ok till trying to get back, - tried to weathervane back out, so ended up power on beaching. Lots of fun in the sun, -still more adjusting to do, ie get it steering straight by itself and limit the drifting slightly.

Shouldn't be too much trouble Martin it if do it like the flash job. Looks like an accessory option that goes on as a unit.? I can get some thin alloy sheet at the hardware I think which might do, or even plastic sheet eg ABS or similar.

Your Speedline model barge looks very good in the water and looks as if she is sailing extremely well. I've always thought that this design was a bit small to carry three headsails, but looking at yours, I think I must revise my opinion. Would like to see her competing in the AMBO class for 30" barges. She would qualify despite being shorter.

Had a full sea trial last week, delighted with all results, please see video. Best results on throttle just about half speed ahead, but much more fun on full speed.

If you have already put it on utube then just post the link to it.
Hopefully we can see it that way.

    Hi CP,
    Put the video up again.
Even if the icon says 'Invalid file' we know how to view it!😉
55 mins is a very long time for an upload!?😮
    How big is the file?
If it's toooo big it may have exceeded the server limit for Uploads.
In which case the way round it is to first upload it to You Tube and then post the You Tube page link (URL) here.
    Cheers, Doug 😎

Hi Kevin. I haven’t seen the owner of that vessel recently but I recall he said it was running on a brushless motor as used in motorised skateboards powered by 12v SLA battery with a 60mm prop. Hope this helps

Century Yacht - another oldie !
This Century Yacht belongs to BMBC Dave and was revived after many years in the loft ! - Seen here on her more recent inaugural sailing - certainly sails better here than up there !. ⛵

A couple of the local sailors have that yacht. Seem to sail well and they get a lot of enjoyment out of them.

AIRBOAT ON A BETTER DAY
Made a few adjustments, including alloy braces for the motor pylon (was a bit flexible and I think it was twisting slightly under power. Rudder linkages still need tightening up (crappy HK clevises,-probably will fit ball links) but it was a bit better this time (apart from a high speed excursion into the rushes at the end,-no damage, got in the shadow and brain couldn't calculate time, angle and distance😁) Battery was down to 7.5v/cell after all this (4000mAh 3s) so not a bad run time. Only had full throttle for about 3 secs total, -too hairy!😁 Put in expo and dual rates but that didn't do much (too much rudder slop to be accurate). Back to the mod shop.
