Creepy
This is Creepy,a springer tug that is 5 yrs old now.He pushes #1200lb pumpkins for the pumpkin regatta along with saving many of the PMPBA club members boats from certain sinking or floating away.I never go to any of the club floats without him.He runs a Harbor freight 550 motor running a Target Hobby 320amp ESC,on a 5000mah 2s lipo battery. The plans can be downloaded free off the internet and takes about a week to build for the experienced builder,Great for the new boat builders to do because its an easy build tug.Simple door skins, some balsa,1/2a running gear from Dumas,1.5 brass prop,2x2 rudder from aluminum, cheap 2channel radio,ESC from Target Hobby.

Nice engineering, have you looked at straight air tools for gearboxes? plenty of those around in your area perhaps.

Pilot Boat
Recently built from an Aeronaut kit, this is a 1/24th scale Pilot Boat based on a German design. Powered by two 540 brushed motors with 3 bladed brass props it attains something like scale speed. The colour is Volkswagen Bright Orange, courtesy of Halfords and the non-slip deck is acrylic green mixed with silver sand then covered with a silk finish varnish.
The boat was filmed at an illuminated regatta staged by Bournville Model Yacht and Power Boat Club on their lake in Bournville, Birmingham

    Hi Colin
Yes, I did brush paint the deck with an inexpensive acrylic.
The sand mix was trial and error. I started off with a thin mix and gradually added more sand, testing it on scraps of plastic, until I was happy.
A brushed coat of satin varnish waterproofed and added to the realism.
    Best of luck.

Sirius Star
This is my replica model of the Sirius Star designed by Max Coote of Ripmax, around 1954.
I found the drawings on the internet, and built the model from scratch. The boat is 41" and I have fitted an electric motor taken from a childs ride on car, 50 amp Chinese controller, 50mm prop, and 12 volt 7 amp lead acid battery.
It also has a Murco diesel fitted in the wheel house to give the boat a 50's appearance!
Sea trials soon!

    Hi Ned, Welcome aboard 👍
On my Sea Scout (little brother of the Sea Queen) I used silicon sealant (a la bathroom!) and a small brass screw in each corner. it had to be good cos I had the RX, RX battery and rudder servo tucked in there!
My boat was also started by Dad in the sixties. He had it free running with a Taycol Target and wet (very!) 6V lead acid cells. I upgraded to RC and Decaperm motor about 25 years ago and am currently restoring and converting to brushless 😲
    Happy boating, Cheers Doug 😎

Wow great bit of video, she performs very well on the water and turns seem to be very stable. Nice one. I have a Sea Queen I have got to renovate. What motor are you running in her please.

This film was taken on our home lake at Needham Market . Originally an I.C powered boat I have converted to single brushless motor on a direct drive 48mm prop , single rudder . Powered by 2*5000mah 4 cell lipos . As you can see I am very pleased with its performance . 😎

These are originally an I.C kit 1/6 scale , there is a company in Germany still making them believe they are called MHZ. I think I've scene them in 1/8 and 1/35 scale too . Also other builders have used water jet drives on films I've watched . This one is running on brushless motor normal prop and direct drive as all my boats have so far . Keeps the cost of spare parts down %uD83D%uDE0E%uD83D%uDC4D
