it does have the capacity to move a ot faster, but would sooner work the motor in fully first
- Dave MVice AdmiralLooks like you are in for some serious fun. You may be able to get the best performance if you have or can borrow a wattmeter to see the effect of different battery / prop set ups. Brushless motors and LiPo's don't like it if you exceed their power ratings.Looks like you are in for some serious fun. - RaydindayalRecruitHi! Fellow modelers, The Vosper kit was matketed by KeilKraft a British agent some time during the 60's, I actually was their agent in South America, but I believe that now they are no longer in business. it is a beautiful model. I did have a good run at my previous home in Guyana, in a cane field then flooded, it worked beautifully with the diesel engine/ screw prop assembly by Graupner. Now I have to look at electric of which I know very little., but I am hoping that the model shop will help when I am ready. Thanks RayHi! - jelley_babyChief Petty Officer 1st ClassHI Ray, The sail at Cwmbran today was a success the boat out performed the previous setup. Several members run Vosper fireboats all running electric power, one with a gearbox 2:1 reduction and two models like mine with 700 size electric my run time on 7.2 volt 3600Mah battery is about 30 to 35 minutes with some fast runs, shorter with all fast running. On 9.6 volt 3700Mah (4.8 x 2 in series) runtime is about the same but model is very quick. On 11.1 volt Lipo 2200Mah battery run time is about 15 to 20 minutes but very very quick. I buy most of the Johnson motors that I use on Ebay the prices vary but all are cheap and I have had no problems with any of them. Our Club is all Electric, but that does not mean slow boats. Electric power has evolved in leaps and bounds over the last few years.HI Ray, The sail at Cwmbran today was a success the boat out performed the previous setup. - jelley_babyChief Petty Officer 1st ClassHI Rob if you have an email address that I could use I have photos of the boat, a friend at my club is also restoring one so I have just taken some photos but I could take some more of the areas that you require easily, sadly I do not have a plan myself as my polar was bought on Ebay at least 5 years ago and I had to work from a billing catalogue photo and some photos from old Model Boat Magazines. Hope to hear from you if that will help.HI Rob if you have an email address that I could use I have photos of the boat, a friend at my club is also restoring one so I have just taken some photos but I could take some more of the areas that you require easily, sadly I do not have a plan myself as my polar was bought on Ebay at least 5 years ago and I had to work from a billing catalogue photo and some photos from old Model Boat Magazines. - THECAPT2012Leading SeamanThanks Don for your comments, My hovercraft is scratch built, the skirt is unique because it has no holes for lift, the lift comes from slots under the hull, making it fast on land and water. Was that you travelling south on the M6 motorway with your craft Sat 8th?Thanks Don for your comments, My hovercraft is scratch built, the skirt is unique because it has no holes for lift, the lift comes from slots under the hull, making it fast on land and water. - LylePetty Officer 2nd ClassHello from an Ossie, I am gob smacked at your detail, it is so good I bet you have messed up and the shoe laces on the boots of the crew are done incorrectly? ( well, I know they are wearing wellies, so it can only be that the buttons on the weather jacket are on the wrong side?) What a delight, a superb model of building and engineering. Very, very well done . See ya Lyle.Hello from an Ossie, I am gob smacked at your detail, it is so good I bet you have messed up and the shoe laces on the boots of the crew are done incorrectly? - chrisbrownRecruitHI there, I have a sea queen that I found in my mates grandads house, built in 1959 with paper work for the ganette 15cc motor, the boat was in VGC but I just had to restore it, the motor and esc I used is from gaint cod, the motor is a EMP 50/65 410kv with a 100amp ESC on 4cell lipo 5000 with a 70mm plastic prop, the speed is a bit over scale speed but the run times are up to 20 minutes.Brushless is the way forward, brushed motors are a thing of the past.HI there, I have a sea queen that I found in my mates grandads house, built in 1959 with paper work for the ganette 15cc motor, the boat was in VGC but I just had to restore it, the motor and esc I used is from gaint cod, the motor is a EMP 50/65 410kv with a 100amp ESC on 4cell lipo 5000 with a 70mm plastic prop, the speed is a bit over scale speed but the run times are up to 20 minutes.Brushless is the way forward, brushed motors are a thing of the past.
- ianed57Sub-LieutenantHI Chris,HI Chris, This sounds very exciting. I have a Sea Queen kit which I want to start and have put off whilst I research what to put in it. Any photos or video of your Sea Queen in action? What make of Lipo do you use? I'm just on the cusp of buying a couple and they seem to vary hugely in price. Presumably you got yours from Giant Shark? Any info gratefully received! Ian

- jelley_babyChief Petty Officer 1st ClassHI Ianed57, Yes Cwmbran is my home water, we sail Wednesday afternoon in term time and the evenings in the school holidays, we as sail Sunday morning 9.30 to 12.30. As I said before phot was taken at the Portishead openday on 1st July, and the weather was blustery to say the least. - ianed57Sub-LieutenantHI Graham,HI Graham, Your comment on my Wavemaster prompted me to have another look at you photos. I'd say the speed of our respective boats was fairly similar but achieved by different means. I notice you are using a smaller but geared motor with a bigger prop but on the same voltage- all very interesting! Ian

Walton Thames is now running on a new Johnston speed 600 electric motor. 50 amp speed controller 45mm pitched propeller.A 6 volt at4.ah which gives good running time & good scale speed. Photos are taken at Eaton park Norwich England. Enjoy. 😊
My next project will be a 1950s Aerokits/Keilcraft Sea hornet. " So watch this space "

if you cover the slots up, you are only adding to the internal temperature of the motor you are trying to cool.
