Aerokits 34 Fireboat first trials with new power set up
first tests (after build started 30 yrs ago !) showed great speed and great handling too but short battery life on 12v set up and 700 series motor so now testing with 6v that gives less speed but much longer running.

Sea Hornet with Graupner 540 series motor also undergoing tests and both models have needed 40A ESC to handle current draw.

Vigilant Star owned by Gerry
Here is a video of our boat (Vigilant star) sailing at New Brighton boat lake on the wirral every Wednesday.

The boat is a semiscale (Coast Guard Cutter), designed by Hal-Harrison in Marine Modelling. I have doubled its size and put two 540/1 Mfa motors in, driving quanta 45mm props. She is 36" length 8" Bow, runs of one 12 volt 7Ah SLA battery.

It is made from Balsa/Fibreglass resin. Runs well no leaks to date. Gerry.

Life boat built by Pete Munday
This lifeboat was a part-kit from Metcalfe Mouldings, being just a bare hull and superstructure. All the detailed work was scratch- built by my son and I did all the drive and electrics.

It is powered by two 540 motors through a single water-cooled speed controller and the props are about 35mm. My son and I sail it at our club water at Knightcote in Warwickshire. it is now about 4 years old and, (touch wood), pretty reliable.
