Scratch-built Trafalgar class submarine 1986-87. it uses 2 x Engel piston tanks for the diving system. This video was at the Task force 72 regatta at Naracoorte in SA in November 2016.

Nice engineering, have you looked at straight air tools for gearboxes? plenty of those around in your area perhaps.

Hi, not sure if my hobby is of interest but it keeps me happy. I build tinplate clockwork submarines and boats from recycled tins and busted clocks. They sail and dive its a million miles from all the modern stuff but great fun. Have a look at www.mclarenclockworksubmarines.com
cheers neil.

Incredible models, I particularly like the U34. I would commission one of those just to sit in my desk it's so nice. Well done Rob, they really are superb, thanks for sharing. 👍

Not your typical submarine but certainly an unusual semI submersible. Scratch built by fellow club member Brian Clewes this is a most striking looking vessel. Fiberglass hull and moulded perspex window. Home built waterjet uses a large 900 (I think) brushed motor, water cooled speed controller and 14.4v LiPo. Looks really spectacular on the water and Brian is working on the ballast to enable the model to remain just submerged. Video to follow in due course.
