The model was bought off eBay as a barely started kit from the 80s and was called Ontario. it was a basic model with no detail and so we decided to make it into a tugboat it had a huge resemblance with called Ionia.👍👍👍😊

1/35 Scale model of the La Combattante IIIB Class Fast Missile Boat of the Hellenic Navy.
The boat is scratchbuilt. it is 1606mm long. it has 2 brushless 720Kv motors and NiMH batteries.
The 76mm guns can traverse and elevate. The 30mm guns can traverse. Both radars rotate and there are LED running lights.

3rd hand boat Through an amazing co-incidence I know the builder. This video was a test of it in water for the first time with me at the helm. I was pleased it went well. I will put in in my harbour soon.

The Ellis boats must have been the inspiration for this old kit from Midwest. I bought the boat as seen in the first photos which was built by Don Sutton, Metro Modellers Toronto, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦
He knew I had my eye on making one from scratch and offered me a fair price to buy his boat.
I am now adding the hard cover over the cockpit as seen on many of the Bunker & Ellis boats.
Previously I added deck furniture to the helm and passenger. Also found the near scale figures.
My plan is to add the forward railing around the bow; add deck boards and more furnishings such as two step boarding ladder, navigation equipment, and possible a fresh coat of paint to the hull.

Experimenting with steam flash boiler and it looks promising!!! Better make a pump next instead of the syringe but I don't expect the little oscillator will cope. if it doesn't will make a small electric one. Need an ice breaker today !!! Les

The USS READY was an Asheville class gunboat that saw service in the USN during the Vietnam period of the 1970's. Four of the boats were outfitted with RIM missiles and served with the US 6th fleet until decommissioned in the late 1970's. The 51" model is a Dumas kit from the 80's and like other Dumas offerings rather basic. I didn't use the kit's metal fittings but replaced them with scratch built items. To make my boat a little different I built the missile launchers that the READY carried. it's just finished so I hope to have it "underway" next spring.

Always interesting things to watch Hovercraft and these were 3 very different types.

Built in 1970's by a modeller who died and sold on by his son a great boat that takes a bit of sailing. Not sure if a kit or scratch built and hopeing someone on here will know.
