This is Maxine, a 1960' aerokit Sea Queen 😊 She has been stripped down, hull repaired along with top sides. New brushless motor/lipos etc. Goes quite well and pretty stable as you can see.She is sailed on Wibsey Park lake in Sunny Bradford.

Bought as a wreck off ebay . stripped down, repaired hull and top sides. re positioned the propshaft. Re painted. New Brushless motor/ Lipos etc. Goes quite well for an old girl, Believed originally built in the 60's. Ill try to upload a video of her strutting her stuff on Wibsey Park lake in Bradford.
Edit: I've managed to upload a video of her in action on u tube ,see link below

Hi Ned, Welcome aboard 👍
On my Sea Scout (little brother of the Sea Queen) I used silicon sealant (a la bathroom!) and a small brass screw in each corner. it had to be good cos I had the RX, RX battery and rudder servo tucked in there!
My boat was also started by Dad in the sixties. He had it free running with a Taycol Target and wet (very!) 6V lead acid cells. I upgraded to RC and Decaperm motor about 25 years ago and am currently restoring and converting to brushless 😲
Happy boating, Cheers Doug 😎

Wow great bit of video, she performs very well on the water and turns seem to be very stable. Nice one. I have a Sea Queen I have got to renovate. What motor are you running in her please.

My 1st excursion into model boat building about a year ago....steep learning curve!!!
Currently powered by 2 x 480 brushed on 11.1v, both motors independently controlled by 2 ESC but soon to be refitted with 2x 1000KV brushless.
Planes beautifully and with twin rudders turns on a sixpence!

That's an excellent running time for a fast model.
😀
It gives a great indication of what can be achieved with brushless motors.,
I'll have to try brushless motors in some of my fast scale boats. I only have one brushless powered model at present, this being the Proboat Blackjack 29 fast electric.

Wahine was a car passenger ferry of the Union Steamship Co. of New Zealand, and completed by Fairfields in 1966. She was lost in a major storm in the Cook Strait in 1968 with the death of 53 people. The model is substantially scratch-built with some fittings purchased. it is driven by two Graupner Speed 500 motors powered from two 6.6V 3200mAh LiFe batteries. it is fitted with twin stern and a single bow rudders, and bow and stern thrusters as on the original. The smoke effect is provided by a Steam Master Unit.

Crane story part 3! Now that the jib raised and lowered, I had to tackle rotating the turret. I canibilsed a radar setup I'd made (again from helicopter parts after a crash!) to rotate the turret. Video of the radar motor in operation shown.

Stirling was one of the last generation of Rescue & Target Towing Launches built for the RAF and were designated Mk 3 RTTL and were delivered in the mid 1970's. The model is 1/24 scale and is 39inches L.o.a completed November 2015 from donated hull, all else is scratch built. twin 555 motors running at 12v with 2 x 6v 4a sla batteries in parallel, gives a good scale speed, and has about 45min endurance..

This film was taken on our home lake at Needham Market . Originally an I.C powered boat I have converted to single brushless motor on a direct drive 48mm prop , single rudder . Powered by 2*5000mah 4 cell lipos . As you can see I am very pleased with its performance . 😎

These are originally an I.C kit 1/6 scale , there is a company in Germany still making them believe they are called MHZ. I think I've scene them in 1/8 and 1/35 scale too . Also other builders have used water jet drives on films I've watched . This one is running on brushless motor normal prop and direct drive as all my boats have so far . Keeps the cost of spare parts down %uD83D%uDE0E%uD83D%uDC4D

Kit [Robbe] I didn't built it myself. I removed the motor and screw. So the only power is wind power. And I've equipped the boat with a sailor and a flag. When zoom in on the last picture, you see that he is also provided with a crate of beer.

Scale models are the only way to see in 3 dimensions how long-gone vessels looked, so it's great to see a unique model that represents this class of vessels.
And great to have it showing its paces.
Well done.

Bought this from a charity shop in Gillingham. Put in new prop shaft motor and servo's etc. She is a very heavy boat and sits a little low in the water, want to use it for the lights on the lake events eventually.
