Empire Raymond.
HI All, E.Raymond is 36 inches long x 9 inches beam. She is scratch built, plank on frame with 3mm ply deck. I made her from the Cervia plans and enlarged them to 36 inches. She has a 540 type motor which I rewound with 80 turns of 30swg wire, for more torque. She has a 4 blade prop 60mm diam. and powered by a 6v 4amp SLA battery. I started the build last March, she's not quite finished yet, needs an anchor winch making and a set of tyres on the sides and other small details. I sail her at Holyhead Breakwater Park when I can.

RAF RSL
Designer: Vic Smeed

A 1:12 scale model of a Thorneycroft RAF launch, length 43in., beam 12.5in Suitable for 2.5cc upwards. Excellent for R/C. Completely detailed on two large sheets.
Myhobbystore uk. MM412

I built this Range Safty Launch two years ago and I am now changing the hull paintwork to also include a water line. I never got around to doing this for some reason.

Range Saftey Launch

I purchased the plans for this model after my late father passed away, he too was building this model but failed to finish it before he died. My father was an Ex RAF Patrol boat pilot, hence the design was appropriate. The plans (Two sheets) are really well presented and easy to use. Each of the sheets provide ample detail to construct the basic model and if you are an experienced builder then these should suffice. However, a little research may be required to put the final touches together for the completed model (If you are a perfectionist like me). These plans are suitable for a novice as a first time project. This being my first attempt at a scale model. The boat once completed sails really well. I fitted mine out with electric motors, speed controller etc and when on the water a few heads turned! Fantastic plans GO FOR IT! Roy McCluskey

Used to class my self as Northerner (Manchester area), but realised awhile back when re-visiting Shopping centre near the Angel of the North, (I used to be a storeman Driver for a fridge company, covering from mid wales to Glasgow in the main), that to you I was a Southerner. Keep my eye out for your Coble, trying to convert a plastic model of a 1/35th scale italerI Vosper MTB to r/c, the kids got me at Christmas, got running gear together, but other things keep cropping up, but in no rush :-).

Love this boat , just going through a re fit , power wise etc,
just was not powerful enough. and too clean .
so decided to try my hand at weathering .
a bit daunting building something "pristine '' ish
then trying to make it better by roughing it up .

Starlet - MM1048
Designed by Vic Smeed in 1966 for the Magazine, Model Maker. Plan No. MM1048. Bought plans from Member and decided to build it as an upgrade to Wee Nip I.e. one sail to two sails. Sailed well. in strong wind had problems with mainsail so fitted a kicking strap which really made a difference.
