Air Sea Rescuce Launch
HI guys I've been luckily enough to of had the chance to buy this boat at the Heywood bring and buy.
It's in 1/16 scale and is four foot long. it's a complete scratch built hull using plastic sign bord.
The hull was built by Nick Rigby from our club in Bury.
All the rest of the detail has been done by his friend.
At the Monment she has the props installed but no motors.
I will be fitting her out with a couple of 900kv brushless motors and a couple of 90amp esc's all water cooled.plus two 11.1volt 5000ma lipo's in parallel to give a long run time. Hope you like the pictures!

As a regular traveller on the Woodchurch I would suggest your model is a very realistic representation. Paint wise the real boat was far from clean or well painted and in places the rust was all to evident.
It was a well loved and trusty vessel and I am sure I am not alone in having many happy memories of cross river trips on her and her sister ferries.

SS JOHN W BROWN
This Boat was bought as the City of ELY Merchant ship, I am in the middle of converting it into the SS John W Brown which was an armed merchant ship built during the second world war. This ship will now sail with the grey funnel section which is part of the Cygnets Model Boat club Maidstone
It has had a complete hull respray, gun platforms built along with new radio control parts and now lights

Thames Barge - 'Kitty'
Just a few photos of my first scratch built model. Although it is supposed to be a simple model to make (according to the plans) I am finding it to be quite a challenge.
I am sure my experienced Club members (CADMBC) will pass on advice when required. Ian

As I strongly favour scratch building, this "first time" build looks like an outstanding effort, well done.
I bet it will look "magic" when completed.

    Very best wishes,

Thank you Frank, I have now added the facility for the false keel and also the prop shaft. Progress is slow as I am in the process of selling my Mothers flat and it is also pretty cold working in my garage at the moment. I will add a few more piccies as soon as I start to add the deck. This is the Metcalf kit and it has taken approximately two years to build!
It had its maiden voyage on Monday 8th July.
It is powered by two Speed 720 motors and a 12 volt battery.
It is sailed on Cheddar Model Boat Club lake in Somerset.

Thank you for your nice response!

Yes I am pleased with the two 720 motors and have a sound unit "the noisy thing" fitted as well which makes it look and sound like the real thing. 😊

I have the same kit and am part way through the build - if the finished boat looks half as good as yours I will be overjoyed 👍
