hello MBWs A little project im currently working on which may possibly change everything its a non aspirating zero emissions adjacent combustion two stroke submarine propulsion system its self sustaining and its fuel is good old H2O! yes I know you probably think im mental and youre probably right but ive had the test bedder running.

Hi Edward, its a fine balancing act of electrolysis to hydroide gas, compression then ignition but utillising vacuum formation as an assisting force to the power stroke so effectively making it a one stroke which sounds odd.still in development ive tried turbine, oscillator pistons and hydraulic recoil as end movers but the best seems to be the straight reciprocator. its scary, how the hell can they tax water??? cheers Neil.

I built this one from a Caldercraft kit and powered it with a twin screw steam engine
Model has steam horn sound together with bilge pump and fully equipped lighting system
Have extensively weathered the model to create realism to imitate what it probably looked like after many years steaming and working round the world in the 1930's
A smoke generator has also been fitted which together with the twin screw steam engine gives a realistic look when on the water

Scratch-built Trafalgar class submarine 1986-87. it uses 2 x Engel piston tanks for the diving system. This video was at the Task force 72 regatta at Naracoorte in SA in November 2016.

U35... Finally done! 2 Months this one took! 3 Ballast Tanks Clockwork Timer for the compressed air system clockwork motor for the coaxial contra rotating tandem props. Maximum time on the bottom 1 hour. clockwork tinplate submarines are great fun!

😊 I like the model and the motor. Fondly remember Taycol motors in the 1960s. I had an Asteroid in a Veron Viceroy and cost a fortune in dry batteries though it was very enjoyable,
I remember the Basset Lowke ready to sail boats which I later found that the same models had been produced in the 1930s. Both models were 39 inches long and one of them ,Streamlinia was steam powered launch with a funnel to the aft of the main cabin and the other was a similar sized launch with a different superstructure and electric power.
I must say that Margaret is a masterpiece with traditional quality and detail and a power unit to match.
Does anyone know if Basset Lowke are still in business?
The last time I saw their name advertised was over 10 years ago when I saw a couple of new O gauge steam locomotives in a model shop
Regards
Boaty

Finally managed to put a little film together of my 1.24 Grey Goose taken at the Herne bay regatta. As well as the usual turning guns, lights and ship sounds this boat fires working torpedo's using a CO2 gas system. Will be putting some film of this on youtube shortly.
If your interested I'll be exhibiting at the Southern Model show this weekend and will demonstrate the torpedo system at the show. Hope to see you there.

Another Mersey ferry and another Royal Iris. This is 1:64 scale (3/16":ft), measures 29" long and weighs 11lbs. Powered by NiMH 6V batteries and Electronize 365-14 motors. it is fitted with either a self-contained sound system playing the 60's "Liverpool sound " music, or fitted with 12V NiMH batteries to illuminate the lights.
