Boat looked great. The boat ran just fine. Not too much over scale speed. It's good to have a little more speed to avert obstacles, especially oyher boats that don't know where they are.

Scratch built from a 1975 free plan, hull is balsa frames sheeted with basswood and covered with 3/4 oz fibreglass cloth, superstructure is styrene sheet, missile launcher from balsa block, forward bofors torpedo launcher from styrene sheet and wood dowl, photo etch ladders, white metal handrail stanchions, other fittings are brass and resin, lw-02 radar and directors are from shape ways rudders and stabilizers are balsa block, you get the idea.

A very nice execution of the old Model Boats free plan. I still have those plans (somewhat tatty after all these years) as well as the MB magazine they came with. How does she sail? Best regards, Glyn

Many thanks for your kind words, I've not sailed her yet, only test tank and had to up the water line a little bit for more stability, I also scaled up the plans to true 1/96 as the plan is around 1/100, the 1/96 fittings I bought from fleetscale were out of scale to the plan, and using the 1.1 water line length noted in the magazine article.

Titanic
I built this 1/125th scale Amati kit of the Titanic over two years from 2016. it has enhanced etched brass details from Minibrass. Conversion for radio control involved making the hull waterproof with multiple layers of fibreglass cloth bonded with epoxy resin as well as the installation of a drive train and RC gear. With only a tiny rudder, steering is dependent on a mixer unit controlling the differential speed of the propellors.

    Nice job👍 Beautiful decking!
Crazing on the white hull looks similar to the problem I had with the clear lacquer on my Sea Scout. Surface stress?🤔
What did you use for paint / lacquer?

Genesis 9000
A short video of the first trial of my Genesis 9000 Offshore Power Boat. This is a boat to use whilst I build others.
The trial was seriously hampered by a faulty main switch. The insides must have fallen apart during transportation. I did manage to get an electrical contact to get around five minutes of the trial. The boat ran well but I will have to adjust the rudder to give more movement. Just after the video ended, the boat hit a ripple whilst turning and flipped over. No water entered the hull so all was good, except the switch now refused to work at all. The trial was ended and unfortunately will now have to wait until I return to my river in August.😤

I agree with the weight being shifted forward a iittle bit.Bow high in a catamaran will catch too much air causing the boat to flip. All it takes is a good gust of wind.Good speed on the boat. After trials you'll have a good fast boat.

I have brought the wiring home we with me. I will change the switch and take it back with me in August.
I must admit that I thought the stern was a bit low in the water. To evenly distribute the weight, I put in two batteries as suggested. I will try to move the batteries forward to change the centre of gravity.😊
