- dave976CaptainHi NickDHi NickD Good info from RNinMunich and probably not generally known. I would switch on the Bluetooth before your Tx and all should be ok as the Tx (certainly those of recent manufacture) should avoid using the channels selected by your Bluetooth device. All devices use Frequency Hopping and use a shared map of hop times and frequencies between devices to identify heavily used channels and avoid. This is the binding process. The info is constantly monitored and regularly updated to allow for new transmissions. That being the case both should work without issue but as ToraDog says I would not wish to use the Bluetooth device on a critical control. dave976

BT Doesn't have a great range (around 40ft on the water) but if you are just using it for an effect which for close up it should be fine. Bench testing will tell if it will affect your set-up (range test outside etc).Hi Nick, I use BT music players in a couple of my boats, as well as a remote key fob (433mhz) operated engine sound start relay, and have no problems with either. I've used it from my watch to the boat, the small Ruizu player to the boat, the Ruizu player in the boat to the BT board/player, for music and radio - aerial on the boat is functional for the radio, (aerial to Ruizu player to board via BT) all BT board functions (including music from an SD card ) controlled by an ifrared remote- pic 4), from the Ruizu player to a BT speaker in the boat and from Ruizu player in the boat to the BT speaker. No problems so far. - Hhager2LieutenantBring on the real MSCO minesweeper for years I wanted to build one. My uncle (Sam really) was my boss on ship. He told me about the Calypso was a rebuild on the Msco frame. So I found the Calypso and used personal pictures as guides. The wheel house was easy and radar room behind it. Adding deck gear and the big wheel that holds the sweep electric plus cable we’re tricky. I added the floats and cable control mechanics on rear deck. Basically the main deck cabin is same along with side rails. The bow needed work but turned out good. It has Rc gear in it but never floated it. I’m getting a display case fir it. My next ship is DE1040 Garcia. 5 ft body fiberglass from scale shiplyard company. I may float that one.Bring on the real MSCO minesweeper for years I wanted to build one. Nice model lots of ballast, batteries, MARX Hectoperm motor for huge power reserve. Running on electric but Cheddar Proteus steam plant also fits in instead with ABC boiler control. plan for the future to try this never run not even on air yet!

- Banchang-modellerAble SeamanThank you for your kind comments. if you don't have an Imara you should put it on wish list, at least. it is still best tug kit available, despite its price, and it is not too difficult a kit to complete, even if you limited experience......RichardThank you for your kind comments. if you don't have an Imara you should put it on wish list, at least. it is still best tug kit available, despite its price, and it is not too difficult a kit to complete, even if you limited experience......RichardLiked by rcmodelboats
She was always very slow and hard to manoeuvre. She was made from MM plans. I could never get her to behave in the water. 27Mhz TX/RX. tried changing motor, prop 6 to 12 volts nothing seemed to make much difference, gave up in the end. You can't win them all.
Model is 65" long with a beam of 10". Power is by electric running via a gearbox at 300 rpm. Ihave taken almost 2years to complete the model working most days on it. Attention to detail was the order of the day.
I am using a Planet T5 Tx and Rx, 5 channels. I have a smoke generator pushing steam out of the twin funnels, synchronised to forward speed, faster the revs, faster the steam. Conventional rudder operation.
Have an operating Radar, ships horn, simulated steam noise varies as speed is altered, full navigation lights, all cabin lights can be switched on and to keep the 106 passengers happy I have a Banjo Band playing to complete the scene. Have sailed it recently at Peterborough and performs really really well. Have to say it tends to attract a lot of interest.
I am now constructing the Ayton Cross tug in 1:32 scale, with all the detail I want.Plan is to tow the Jeanie Deans around when completed as well assailing her
