I downloaded the plans, altered the scale size and printed the hull and boat to scale. Again this was the first and I now am looking forward to another project.

- JOHNMidshipmanHi there
senile moment for me :-) as there is already a short build of HMS Exeter on here if you do a search - you will come across the build by me and there are some closeup pics on there.

- f4u7RecruitMany thanks for your kind words, I've not sailed her yet, only test tank and had to up the water line a little bit for more stability, I also scaled up the plans to true 1/96 as the plan is around 1/100, the 1/96 fittings I bought from fleetscale were out of scale to the plan, and using the 1.1 water line length noted in the magazine article.Liked by Donnieboy
- ModelHoverChief Petty Officer 2nd ClassThe kits are made by Palaform Ltd see website www.modelhovercraft.co.uk This one is a Griffon 600 made from deprom. Very easy to assemble. Get the electrics pack with it rather than supplying your own.Liked by rolfman2000

- circle43nauticalChief Petty Officer 2nd ClassBRAVO ZULU! Again, very nice. The multifunction of your boat is great and lends alot of ideas. I'm definitely gonna look into the Windy City fireboat.
I once saw her up close when on vacation in Chicago in 97.
Hull started out as polystyrene foam and plywood. Started July 29,2006 and in the water by Aug. 11th for sea trials. Detailed over the following 18 months.
The model is powered by 12vdc using Graupner Speed400-2.33:1 gear drive, and the small Graupner Schottel drives #1761. Separate ESC and Steering control for each drive.
The Lighting is 3mm LED cast into clear, or tinted, polyurethane lamps.
It sails the Pacific Northwest, USA, homeport Portland, Oregon.
Cheers, Nerys
