By the way, you may get some Viagra (10.8v Nihm battery) on Ebay. You will find them with either AA-type cells and C-type cells. I do prefer the C-type cells. Expect to pay around $45-50 USD. I bought some from a German store named "www.Conrad.de", but it seems they no longer offer them.

    Hi Lads
    I have a Sea Commander with a D3548-1100kv,3S Lipo,60Amp ESC and a 2 blade 40mm CNC prop.
I bought a Precedent Huntsman 34" a few weeks ago and may be running a 3639-1100 or a 3648-1450 instead of the D3548 motor.
As for motor mounts the aluminium angle works well and I just epoxy glue it in place.

Original design "Express Cruiser" type boat. Old home-made fiberglass hull built in UK in the 1970s and rescued from previous owner's garage. Model built during April-July 2015. Approx. 1/24 scale. in trying to emulate a Bertram Bahia Mar boat, I ended up with an originally fictitious design. Real life boat could be a 32-footer (9.75m) yacht. 3mm 9v LED navigation lights system. Runs on Mtroniks G2 3A Hyper BEC 6-12V 15A Constant controller, Biao123 A2122 brushless motor, and a NiMH 10.8v battery.

Model kit made on or about 1969 by defunct German firm Robbe based upon Chris Craft Roamer motor yachts of the era. Hull appears to be inspired on 1950s Chris Craft Constellation series. Model tried to emulate a 46 feet version. I got this one half-built and adapted as a gift for my child inspired in the "My Little Pony" characters. Approx. 1/20 scale. Authentic Chris Craft Roamer 46 measured 46 x 15 feet. it runs with a 4-bladed 40mm metal propeller, 320A 7.2V-16V ESC 30A constant, a NiMH 9.6v battery, and a Mabuchi 540 Motor.

Looks like a Graupner 'Commodore'. I built one in the 70s and looks identical (see pic)

Triton
With my boats getting routinely stranded in the middle of nowhere, I felt compelled to commission a rescue vessel and "Triton" was born. "Triton" is a Springer-type tug push boat. With a hull and superstructure consisting of an “Indiana” style command cabin, it was built using a pretty basic birch plywood American kit designed for swimming pool water polo. Kit altered to resemble a fictitious Salvamento Marítimo (Spanish Coast Guard) unit following Salvamento Marítimo’s actual boat markings. Equipment and deck layout inspired on actual Springer tug push boats supporting larger vessels and barges found in US and European ports and rivers. Model built during September – October 2015. Approx. 1/18 scale. Real life boat could be a 30-footer (9.14m) vessel. Equipped with 9v LED navigation lights and sound system. Powered by an HPI Racing 1145 Gt 550 Motor, NiMH 7.4v battery, a 3-bladed 44mm propeller, and a 6-12V 320A RC Ship & Boat R/C Hobby Brushed Motor Speed Controller.

Very nice vessel. I'm thinking I will have to build a recovery craft of some sort and something like that would do it for me. Weed is a bit of a problem where I sail and have been thinking a swamp boat (airboat). Any thoughts ?

Bademenuss
Altered Krick Lisa M model kit seeking realism. inspired on 1970s 40, 42 and 43 Hatteras, Uniflite and Viking Double Cabin American yachts. 9v LED navigation lights system. Approx. 1/20 scale. Real life boat could be nearly 39 x 13.7 feet. Similar real-life Hatteras 40 Double Cabin yacht measured 41 x 13.7 feet. Runs with NiMH 9.4v battery, an HPI Racing 1145 Gt 550 Motor 14.4V, and a 40mm 3 blade propeller.😁

Hi Krampus, there's another name needing some explaining! And yes I do know where it comes from having lived here for 30 years! Santa Claus' / St Nicholas' gruesome companion who scares all the kids who've been bad 😭 interesting choice 😉
Bademenuss / Hauchies; now I understand 😊 Kids are super inventive improvisers. My daughter couldn't get her tongue round elephant so it came out 'Lumplump'. 😊 Cheers Doug 😎

Purchased on well known auction site. Boat very dusty/dirty but sound. it is from a Robbe kit that was around about 10 years ago and has timber decking, built-in auxiliary motor, navigation lights, etc. A deep clean followed by a re-paint of the superstructure, rub the decking down and varnish, followed by a complete rub down and re-paint of the hull brought her back to a fine yacht. She is about 40 inches in length and sails beautifully and has great presence on the water.

Gusty Cat (ex Lady Daphne)
I like Douglas Adams books. ..(and Terry Pratchett too)
But I was most attracted to Gusty Cat ...
So.. Model of thames barge , build according to modified plans of sb Lady Daphne in scale 1:28 (length cca 1 meter ).
it will be again a model with an auxiliary motor, staysail class.
I am currently grinding the laminate hull with several layers of putty.
It is an ungrateful job.

Great video, shame they no longer produce any of their boats. I still have a Spearfish new in the box waiting to be made up. I had a Spearfish back in the 80's with a Irvine 61 in her. She was great fun on the water.

This Aerokits "Sea Commander" was built C.1961 by my father with ED Mk4 diesel engine and his own scratch designed and built radio/receiver ( I have all his design documents). He raced it successfully in the early '60s but hadn't used it in years when I inherited it. Have now replaced the IC motor (mothballed carefully) with MFA Torpedo 500 but it runs a bit slowly ("river cruising" scale speed). Looking to obtain semi-planing but not racing speed.

Thanks Johnlikessailing. However, I have now replaced MFA 500 with Mtroniks 600 and got much better performance, although I'm not sure how much of this was due to the change of motor and how much was due to rectifying the slippage due to a loose grub-screw on the connection between the motor drive shaft and the universal joint that I found when I removed it! (Lesson - beware of alternative causes of problems!) Now I just need to sort out a leak - hardly a surprise on a 50 yr old model! Hey-ho!
