- sharpy1071Chief Petty Officer 2nd ClassHI there thanks for your kind comments, I bought this camera from Hobby King for about £20.00 last xmas, it works really good in aircraft as well. On Sunday I thought I had it switched on, and then sailed through the fleet for about 45 minutes, but no I had press the button twice, hence switched it off. The batteries were getting low when this was filmed thats why the shortness of the film, I was just concerned to get the boat back before I ran out of electricty. For a bit of cheap fun I would recommend one because you can see your lake from a different angle, if any of you fly that is really good fun. Thanks BrianHI there thanks for your kind comments, I bought this camera from Hobby King for about £20.00 last xmas, it works really good in aircraft as well. With the noise from the meccano step down gears it gave a satisfying Impression. I do not expect that it will get sailed much, as it has ended up much more of a display model than something to expose to the sort of water we have around here.

- Dave MVice AdmiralVery realistic looking on the water. What calm conditions you have, my lake usually has a steady swell washing the landing stage from the other side. 😀Very realistic looking on the water. I know from experience that this often seems to get farther and farther away.

Sorry about photo quality but camera is playing up.
- thelegosMaster SeamanVery nice, this looks to me like 'Vivacity', a model boat which was designed by Vic Smeed. The age is abouit right although the original was 54" in length not 60.5". Roger - Colin HFleet AdmiralHI Roger,HI Roger, Thanks for your comments, when originally built by my dad in 1964, it had an aft cabin with center well deck and was based on a real boat that my family owned up to 1967, she was sixty feet six inches over all and was used for family holidays from the early 30's, powered by a Perkins diesel. The model was dads gift to me for my 15th birthday. The aft cabin was changed to a well deck after damage sustained while in storage for about 20 years. And as the original, plans, photos, and the original boat had all gone I did the best I could to preserve the model. Thanks Colin.

I managed to get these pics of the monitors in action
( a bit limited as I was alone and operating the TX and camera together! )

34" fireboat built 1965 restored late 2009 by me
running graupner 8.4v speed 600 on 8 cells (9.6v).
love the way the boat is in and out of shadow and sunlight throughout the video
the camera lies.. its no where near as good as the camera makes it look. but it is all there.
will be getting the full restoration, hull is sound, superstructure is very fragile.
my Aerokits fleet now includes..
34" fireboat x 2 (1 restored)
fast patrol launch
sea scout (restored)
sea rover
sea commander
fairey swordsman

- triumphjonMaster Seamanfollowing a couple new modifications my sea rover has been re motored with a vision 600 without the two torque rings , now running a 7.2 or 9.6 battery pack fitted under the rear floor , Ive also reinstated the box at the stern which has my steering servo mounted underneath it , the "box is to full deck height with a removable top for servo acsess , Ive included a helm position c/w a period helmsman ( hes still got his teddy boy quiff ! ) although Ive not fitted the roof over the cockpit , Ive also cut a door into the front cabin , which will in time have a pair of opening barn doors & a small hinged top hatch over them . working 3mm led navigation and cabin lamps have also been fitted although Ive used a more modern cover for them , After looking through one of my magazines the sea rover bears a very close resembelance to a moody 27 gentlemans sports boat of the mid sixties !following a couple new modifications my sea rover has been re motored with a vision 600 without the two torque rings , now running a 7.2 or 9.6 battery pack fitted under the rear floor , Ive also reinstated the box at the stern which has my steering servo mounted underneath it , the "box is to full deck height with a removable top for servo acsess , Ive included a helm position c/w a period helmsman ( hes still got his teddy boy quiff ! ) although Ive not fitted the roof over the cockpit , Ive also cut a door into the front cabin , which will in time have a pair of opening barn doors & a small hinged top hatch over them . working 3mm led navigation and cabin lamps have also been fitted although Ive used a more modern cover for them , After looking through one of my magazines the sea rover bears a very close resembelance to a moody 27 gentlemans sports boat of the mid sixties !
- BigChrisRecruitI have two sea rovers - both bought off e-bay. The first is in virtually original condition down to the original motor and speed controller although the speed controller now seems to have given up the ghost so will be replaced with a viper plug and play. I have added a small mast and wired in nav and masthead lights. it sails beautifully and creates a load of interest at the pond sideI have two sea rovers - both bought off e-bay. I have had to rebuild the windscreen frame and I have done this by laminating plasticard. I have to say the finished affect is pretty good although purists are probably tearing their hair out at the very thought of using plasticard! Ah well everyone is entitled to their opinion.

- ianed57Sub-LieutenantIt is indeed sad and these videos remind us of happy times spent there. We srtuggle to find a suitable alternative.
