Robbe W3 Police Boat video (video)
I bought this boat in reasonable condition five years ago from an estate sale. The original geared 540 brushed motors were rusted beyond repair, so I replaced them with a pair of 2830 1000kv brushless motors, running off a pair of 6 cell NiMH packs.
I use a transmitter mix to allow the model to rotate on the spot and perform scale-like docking manoeuvres.

Police Launch.
The Police Launch is a Krick kit which I am currently building. it is a really nice project but, as usual, I just have to add things.
The project is to make the blue light flash. The video shows the three stages of prototyping. The first is the circuit built on a Breadboard. The second part is the actual circuit reduced in size ready to hide inside the boat. The third part is the LED fitted in the incorrect position to show how effective it will be.
I have added a trimmer pot to the circuit so that I can select a suitable frequency that looks right at a later date.
Thanks to Doug for his help to get started and give me some hints about how the circuit works.🤓😊

Hi chaps, just for info, 'Bright Components' do 6 different colours of flashing LEDs very reasonably priced. Also flickering - very interesting.😉

Sure! But isn't it more satisfying to make it do it yourself, and take control?

Police Launch 1.12 Scale
Police (Scotland) 1.12 scale. made from a Semi-Kit by Models by Design, built 2014.
This is modelled from the interceptor42 range by Safehaven Marine. This is my first full build of a model, having only done restorations previously.
Model length is some 42 inch, beam of 12 inch. (106cm x 31cm)
Power is by twin E-Max BL2826 Brushless motors and 1, 80amp speed controller running on 2 NiMH 7.2 volts.
Fitted with Action electronics Police siren, and with detailed rotating blue lights and searchlights.
I sail this at Cold Knap Lake Barry Vale of Glamorgan, and I am the Founding member of the Vale Of Glamorgan Model Boat Club.
Also included is my Portland Pilot interceptor 42 which was the original prototype from Models by Design which I purchased and added lighting etc, this runs on Brushless motor running on 12Volt lead acid.

Nice looking boat, hope to be back sailing soon at Ethrow, daughters health issues curtailed any sailing last year, my brother David is the yacht secretary there. he usually down Tues, Thurs and Sunday. Have been busy finishing latestmodel and re-jigging some older ones, so plenty to do.

DEVA Cheshire Police boat
Here is a Graupner Bremen 9 converted to represent a UK Police boat. She is called DEVA which is the Roman name for the county capital of Cheshire - Chester.

If the Cheshire Constabulary owned a vessel of the size of the original Bremen 9, I am reliably informed that the 'Battenburg' and transom diagonal stripes would be correct. The 'BA 07' lettering on the superstructure is also the correct national and regional code for the Cheshire Constabulary. The constabulary crest on the cabin doors however has now been superseded by a more modern constabulary logo that looks sh1te.
The RIB provided with the kit is too small and in my opinion not to scale; I will replace it at some point. The light bar and all other blue and navigation lights work off 9v batteries.

FIRE BOAT
This was a Damage R/C Police Boat ( That is mass produce in the USA and can be found on eBay anyday ) That I converted into a fire boat .This is for display only. it is 21 " or 533.4 mm long 6" or 152.4 mm at it's widest point .Everything on it was put on my myself except the hand rails , air horn and anchor . The black on the deck is all real non-skid .This was a fun project to do for I never did work with anything like this or this large before . Most of my customizing and kitbashing is with diecast fire trucks .
