Another youtube offering, and also Danish as per the last video. A very neat steam engine installation of a twin cylinder slide valve, in an open hardwood boat. The three figures on board are to a very high standard and dressed very much the same as the last video. it would seem besides bacon, Denmark is the place to find one's authentic boat crew.
Both this boat and the other one you link to is done by a member of Vallensbæk Modelskibs Klub, where I'm also a member Bernhard is the local king of detailing his boats (and trucks).

I think the two video clips posted are quite incredible, and very much admire the skills of the builders and the finely detailed finish on both boats. I rather wish we had more steam enthusiasts in this country, but I am afraid it is nearly all electric motors more is the pity. Regards to yourself and Bernhard definitely the king of fine detail. Ahoy Maties! it's been a long time since my last posting. Happy 2019! I just completed my new scratch-built boat "Electric Barbarella". I tried to recreate (with some liberties) one of my favorite boats of all time, the 30-footer Chris Craft Sportsman built during the 1970s. it measures 24 X 8.5 inches. it is powered with a 9.6 NiMH 4200 mAh battery "nunchuck" pack (like the one used for paintball guns), brushless motor attached to a 30A Mtroniks Hydra controller and a 30mm M4 3-bladed brass propeller. The hull (my own on-the-go design) was made out of Balsa wood which later I fiberglassed. For the superstructure I utilized 2mm ABS plastic sheet material. To my surprise the boat turned to be a very stable and forgiving platform. I really feel a very close connection to this vessel as it is my first own hull design.😁
PT 109 was one of the hundreds of motor torpedo boats (PT) of the PT 103 class completed between 1942 and 1945 by Elco Naval Division of Electric Boat Company at Bayonne, New Jersey. The Elco boats were the largest in size of the three types of PT boats built for U.S. use during World War II. Wooden-hulled, 80 feet long with a 20-foot, 8-inch beam, the Elco PT boats had three 12-cylinder Packard gasoline engines generating a total of 4,500 horsepower for a designed speed of 41 knots. With accommodations for 3 officers and 14 men, the crew varied from 12 to 14. its full-load displacement was 56 tons. Early Elco boats had two 20mm guns, four .50-caliber machine guns, and two or four 21-inch torpedo tubes. Some of them carried depth charges or mine racks. Later boats mounted one 40mm gun and four torpedo launching racks. Many boats received ad-hoc refits at advanced bases, mounting such light guns as Army Air Forces 37mm aircraft guns and even Japanese 23mm guns. Some PTs later received rocket launchers.
This Proboat PT 109 model was brought in 2013 for £100 these boats are rare now, This one had a few faults with the propshafts they were bent and noisy both were replaced, with quality 4mm shafts, motors twin 600s were also replaced by Graupner versions along with mounts and couplings, basically all the running gear, also two ESCs by Aquapower were added and a 2.4G RC system.

Again, great day with smashing stalls and a childrens play centre, with Knightswood Club providing a variety of small power boats for the children to get "Hands On' experience. it was a joy watching their faces when they realised it was THEM that was actually sailing the boat's. My only regret I didn't have my small grandson with me.
Knightswood Boating Club Glasgow. Great day out for everyone, from babies, children and those who should know better. Smashing atmosphere and I got a free coffee just for being there.
Ramura Hull - wooden boat from 1960's use to have an Ohlsson and rice engine but now runs Kawasaki 26cc Flymo engine.
New homemade carb and also tried running on glow fuel and a glow plug, instead of petrol and the electronic ignition.
Not used any more IC engine's banned at our POOL.😱
Trying to reply to your query about Huntsman power plant, cant find the right place.... anyway cant give you a sensible answer as I dont know. it's an old brushed motor given to me. Will operate up to 24 volts and I'm running it on 14. I think its just right.

With my boats getting routinely stranded in the middle of nowhere, I felt compelled to commission a rescue vessel and "Triton" was born. "Triton" is a Springer-type tug push boat. With a hull and superstructure consisting of an “Indiana” style command cabin, it was built using a pretty basic birch plywood American kit designed for swimming pool water polo. Kit altered to resemble a fictitious Salvamento Marítimo (Spanish Coast Guard) unit following Salvamento Marítimo’s actual boat markings. Equipment and deck layout inspired on actual Springer tug push boats supporting larger vessels and barges found in US and European ports and rivers. Model built during September – October 2015. Approx. 1/18 scale. Real life boat could be a 30-footer (9.14m) vessel. Equipped with 9v LED navigation lights and sound system. Powered by an HPI Racing 1145 Gt 550 Motor, NiMH 7.4v battery, a 3-bladed 44mm propeller, and a 6-12V 320A RC Ship & Boat R/C Hobby Brushed Motor Speed Controller.
Very nice vessel. I'm thinking I will have to build a recovery craft of some sort and something like that would do it for me. Weed is a bit of a problem where I sail and have been thinking a swamp boat (airboat). Any thoughts ?
This is the 29" Brushless Miss Geico. Running on two 14.8 volt 5000mAh LiPo batteries. in Herbert Woods Boatyard in Potter Heigham Norfolk. She is pretty quick but do not know her top speed. Turns flat out on full rudder lock. Runs for about 15 to 20 minutes. Would recommend as a great fun boat.
i know what you mean about speed and i am always trying to get more from my steam boats!!! they are very slow compared with your petrol and brushless jobs but my aim is for more speed .i am working on steam turbines at present which are very inefficient and not that powerful but the intention is eventually for more speed !! you want to try coal fired boiler boats [ i make my own ] . there is much to do pondside what with stoking and water filling and oiling and all and i get loads of fun ..... much more than sailing my old electric crash tender which was fun to build but boring to sail . les breame
It is surprising just what you can get a Crash Tender to do. They can be very fast and also handle very well on the water. Those Vosper hulls are amazing. That's why they were used for the fire tenders and MTB's etc. But then the Fairey hulls like the Huntsman and Spearfish also handle very well at speed.
Realistic looking model. is it built from scratch or a kit? Might you post some more detailed pics of the insides? You could start a build blog and descibe how you constructed the model, plus post some pics. Only 4 pics per post so best to take the pics and then post with comments. More pics and more comments can then be added.

The Robert Broughty ferry lifeboat when it first appeared at the station (in Grey not Orange) Believe it or not I have never sailed her,only displayed I will put her on the water soon,the reason I chose grey as I do prefer the older lifeboats in grey as they have more character my opinion only,I have spoke to the owner of the real boat and he has said the only thing wrong is the flag pole , my is gold chrome not wooden (flag on front of hull) but when you get your transfers for nothing you don't worry.The real boat the Robert is in the Orkney islands at Kirkwall and you can go on trips on her
