Glues, glues all kinds of Glues!

Well, my glue order arrived today!

I still have some other supplies.
I'm waiting for!

I had ordered the water proof PVA glue!
The tops of the Smit Nederland is all wood!
Along other glues I might need for this build as well!

I've also ordered a scribe cutter.
Which I'll use to scribe the line.
On the top of the hull!
Which has excess of plastic to cut off!

The scribe will be here in a few more days!

16 Channel Upgrade being Sorted out!

So the folks at Cornwall Model Boats.
Finally responded they were trying to sort out.
What the problem is with the 16 ch switch and decoder.
I am having problems with!

So, I've been told I should have an answer by end of day!

Patiently waiting for an answer!

It's a good thing I decided to test the upgrade.
Just imagine a year from now.
Finding out the upgrade doesn't work!

Now that would have been a real problem!

Cornwall Model Boats!

This morning I recieved a phone call.
From the folks at Cornwall Model Boats!

It was a fellow by the name of Glenn.
He told me that they had ordered.
Replacement Switch and decoder!

I am to wait for them to arrive.
Once they have arrived I am to send back.
The ones that don't work!

They had figured the decoder is faulty!

So, maybe I'll be able to do my 16 channel.
Upgrade after all!👍

Caliper any body!

Smit Nederland has a lot to measure!
So, I ended up having to order a Caliper!
Nothing fancy just something to measure in millimeters.
It can also measure in inches!

But, Like i said nothing fancy!

It come in handy when measuring something that's 3,4,5,6mm thick!
I have a ruler that measure in milimeters.
But, my eye aren't the way they use tobe!

Switch and Decoder!

I had to sent back the defective Decoder.
I also sent back the switch module!

Glenn, at Cornwall Model Boats.
Told me to send them back.
Which I did today!
Seems the folks at Robbe.
Wanted to look at the Defective Decoder!

Now to play the dreaded waiting game!

Glenn, at Cornwall Model Boats.
Is going to test the new Switch an Decoder modules.
Before they send them to me!
Just to make sure they are in working order!
Before sending them to me!

So, Tick Tock, tick tock!🤞

Then they asked me for my Address.
Which I gave to them.

Then a little more time goes by.
Then they asked me what country I was in.
Which I quickly replied "USA"!

Haven't heard from then since!
I'm just hoping they shipped.🤞

    Hi Martin,

I'm sure glad I'm not on the Moon!
But, I mitus well be on the Moon!

    The folks at Billing Boats.
    Don't communicate very well!

And I'm feeling kind of nervus!

Has anyone ever dealt with Billing Models?

I know how you feel Ed.
As I have said before "they have your hard earned cash so now you can jolly well wait they will sort it out when They are good and ready "
It seem that some of these companies don't care about there repretation any more.
    Really really annoying.

Kort Nozzles, from a far!

It took some doing.
I had been emailing different companies.
Trying to get my Kort Nozzles.
In a timely manner!

So, I emailed the folks at PM HANSENS LTD.
In Canada they were very helpful.
Because the Kort Nozzles were missing.
They are special ordering them.
And they will be sent in about 4-8 weeks!

At least now I know they're on the way!

But, this means I have to wait to start work.
On the build of the Tug: Smit Nederland!

I know what about the ones coming from Denmark.
I just don't know if they are on there way!

Always good to have a second plan!🤞

a few computer problems, but back on!

And still waiting for some supplies to arrive!
Believe it or not!
I'm waiting for a scribe!
I know I could use a razor blade.
But, I'm not rushing myself!
Slow ahead as it's said!

Scribe Line!

There is anywhere from 5/8" to 1" of flash.
That has to be cut off the hull!

So, I did as RNinMunich recommended.
And used a felt pen.
To draw a line so then I can scribe the line.
To be able to snap of the flash once it's scribed!

I was told I can use my exacto.
But, I don't want to scratch the hull!

So, I'll wait till my scriber arrives!
Should arrive in the next few days...…..!

Whenever I’ve done a plastic hull, Lexan car body, airplane canopy or the like, I’ve used an x-acto. I don’t try to cut all the way thru the material, but maybe halfway. After I make the scribed line I find where the plastic makes sharp curves or corners..bow, parts of the stern, etc. I try to isolate those areas, say maybe a 1/2 inch off the bow, and cut down thru the flange to the scribe line, but no further. This will give me a fairly straight piece of flang with no hard curves, thus less chance of having the plastic stressed at the curves and possibly damaging the hull when the flange is peeled/snapped off. Then it’s a simple matter to bend the flange at the scribe line and it should easily break or peel off. The curved pieces of flange left I usually slice or cut down multiple times till I’m able to break them off, then I sand the perimeter with a sanding block. Hope this makes sense.
