Original design "Express Cruiser" type boat. Old home-made fiberglass hull built in UK in the 1970s and rescued from previous owner's garage. Model built during April-July 2015. Approx. 1/24 scale. in trying to emulate a Bertram Bahia Mar boat, I ended up with an originally fictitious design. Real life boat could be a 32-footer (9.75m) yacht. 3mm 9v LED navigation lights system. Runs on Mtroniks G2 3A Hyper BEC 6-12V 15A Constant controller, Biao123 A2122 brushless motor, and a NiMH 10.8v battery.

Hi and welcome to the site.
If you are considering using an IC in the model I suggest you find a local club or water where you can sail. Many local authority waters prohibit IC engines.
I see you recently asked for details of a club in Torquay and note that we do have a club registered (Model Boat Clubs) as Torbay and District MBC. You could try sending a pm to one of the members registered as sailing there and ask for details.
Good looking crew!

This is my 6 month in build of a fully working fishing boat .she has a real I have modified and put a 20kg winch servo so u can real in and out and have drill a hole in to the real and put another servo so u can lock the reel out to.made a back plate on the end of a cut off rod and bolted in to the hull. She has full fpv from the wheel house with a 360 spin HD camera and have even put a digital amp meter so u can look at to and see how mUchida power u have left full running lights controls off hand setc to twin brushless motor water cooled and a large 100 amp esc with air fan and own power supply going to take her out tomorrow for her maiden voyage. Witch has bin a real long time coming and a lot of blood sweat and stress to get it all to work but finally I'm there hope u all enjoy and like what I have dun thanks for reading my post Ben

Hello Skegness..I am using 2 E-Max GT2820/7 brushless Motors. These Are UK purchased from BRC Hobbies (based Northolt) Cost £20.95 each.. these are 850 KV..using Twin Mystery RC 70A Forward Backward 2-7s Brushless ESC (with Ubecc) about £20 or less on EBay (HK).
Run Time..1 Hour, mix of fast and slow Sailing..Depends on use.
Using 2 X 7.2 NMH Volt Battery Packs..at 5000mah each.
She Goes Like fast, and cuts through water lovely.
Have A Similar Setup (Different Emax Motors) in my Models By Design interceptor 42 Boat (42 inch length)..Tooo Fast for me..lol..Any Other info PM me for phone number..Happy Sailing

This is Maxine, a 1960' aerokit Sea Queen 😊 She has been stripped down, hull repaired along with top sides. New brushless motor/lipos etc. Goes quite well and pretty stable as you can see.She is sailed on Wibsey Park lake in Sunny Bradford.

Bought as a wreck off ebay . stripped down, repaired hull and top sides. re positioned the propshaft. Re painted. New Brushless motor/ Lipos etc. Goes quite well for an old girl, Believed originally built in the 60's. Ill try to upload a video of her strutting her stuff on Wibsey Park lake in Bradford.
Edit: I've managed to upload a video of her in action on u tube ,see link below

Hi Ned, Welcome aboard 👍
On my Sea Scout (little brother of the Sea Queen) I used silicon sealant (a la bathroom!) and a small brass screw in each corner. it had to be good cos I had the RX, RX battery and rudder servo tucked in there!
My boat was also started by Dad in the sixties. He had it free running with a Taycol Target and wet (very!) 6V lead acid cells. I upgraded to RC and Decaperm motor about 25 years ago and am currently restoring and converting to brushless 😲
Happy boating, Cheers Doug 😎

Wow great bit of video, she performs very well on the water and turns seem to be very stable. Nice one. I have a Sea Queen I have got to renovate. What motor are you running in her please.

This film was taken on our home lake at Needham Market . Originally an I.C powered boat I have converted to single brushless motor on a direct drive 48mm prop , single rudder . Powered by 2*5000mah 4 cell lipos . As you can see I am very pleased with its performance . 😎

These are originally an I.C kit 1/6 scale , there is a company in Germany still making them believe they are called MHZ. I think I've scene them in 1/8 and 1/35 scale too . Also other builders have used water jet drives on films I've watched . This one is running on brushless motor normal prop and direct drive as all my boats have so far . Keeps the cost of spare parts down %uD83D%uDE0E%uD83D%uDC4D

I built this sea Queen ,aka Blue Streak, from a Jotika kit. But found the motor did not give the performance I expected. So the motor was replaced with an Overland T4250 Brushless motor with Fusion Hawk 60amp ESC fed by an Overland 14.8 4s 4000Ma Lipo battery. The performance is greatly enhanced, Boat is finished in white with blue cabin tops and a large blue streak down each side. And shows the Australian flag.

Another winter project for myself this time. Twin brushless motors/ESC's all water cooled. interior and deck lights got some figures for deck then onto the lake when the weather breaks.
