SS (RMS) Empress Queen was a steel paddle steamer, which was the last of its type ordered by the isle of Man Steam Packet Company She was chartered by the Admiralty in 1915 and used for trooping duties until she ran aground off Bembridge, isle of Wight, England, and was subsequently abandoned.
The model was scratch built on a modified fibreglass hull. The plans were obtained from Glasgow University and the model was nearly 7ft long with an overall beam including paddles of about 14 inches. She was independently powered with two geared motors from Wulitzer juke box components. I hope to do a build blog in the near future.
She was purchased from me by the Beale Park, part of the Child Beale Trust Reading.

Saw the plans of 'Farmont' and could not resist the challange of this model. First problem was where and how to creat a removable cabin and decided on having the whole top removable other than the forward and aft decks. I also realised that the plans were simplified so a bit of research on Google revealed pictures of the real things for sale and some indepth pics of the boats being constructed. They omitted the bow breaker for ease of modelling but short cuts are not in my vocabulary. it is also difficult to visulise where all the stair cases go, so going online helped clarify this. I opted for a plank on frame construction covering the hull with a single layer of fibreglass and using lite ply and plasticard for the cabins. The deck planking was marked out with pencil before varnishing. I also wanted the boat to be fully lit and both radars to be operational and counter rotating (looks better from a spectators point of view). Completion date sometime in 2015, watch this space!

SemI Kit, I.e fibreglass hull and superstructure and wooden rubbing strake all the rest is scratch built. A very good sailer and very stable. Quick to build only a month and powered by 540motor and 35mm prop. Lasted for hours on one charge.

Mobil Marine fibre glass hull, 545 motor, 6 volt 4 amp GelCel battery. I believe it is Gaff Rigged Cutter. That is all I know about this boat as I bought it second hand in 2013

This is a Chris Brown fibreglass hull for Cariad, it was a reject so Chris let me have it cheep. I like to be different so I built it as Spray of Newport. Sailed well on internal ballast only just adjust the rig to suit the conditions. Two sail arm servo one on main other on fore sails. Rudder controlled from under the deck by servo 3. The westerman ( who sails the boat for the pilot) holds the tiller which moves his arm. A forth servo pulls a string passing up his leg through his arm which is a spring. When the spring is compressed the arm waves in a random way. ( the idea came from the toy animal on a stand when the bottom of the stand is pushed in the animal falls down.)

Scratch built 1/48 scale Mersey ferry Snowdrop in current use on the Mersey (ex Woodchurch)
Model interiors fitted out with tables chairs people etc and 72 leds light to Illuminate the interior saloons.
Just completed and maiden voyage on Hoylake Lake on the Wirral.
2.4Ghz radio and a bilge pump just in case. Sails a treat with 100 passengers. Extensive use of plasticard on superstructure. Fibreglass hull from own mould.

builds a box was made to hold the running gear it will be powered by a brushless airplane motor & 11.1v lipo battery

First stage of building the Cossack. I plan to build the hull out of fibreglass, the mould has been carved out of extruded foam. Then the foam will be covered in packing tape, then covered in fibreglass. Once the fibreglass has set the foam will then be removed from the fibreglass hull.

7 September, hull has been completed, started to build the superstructure

THE HUNGRY SAILORS. She is scratch built 3/4 to 1 ft. The hull is fibre glass on balsa plank with OpepI Oak deck, shes powered by a 700 auxiliary motor and Lipo battery, can be seen at Boundery Water Park.

Fibre glass Arrawana 22 inches less than a kilo,brushless 3600 kv 60 amp esc runs on 11.1v 3cell . Pretty fast but still exp with props
