Hi All. Many may already recognise the 'nutter from Munich' 😁
but I just wanted to say-
I first stumbled across this site and enrolled here in 2014 but was still in harness and trundling around the world working with various navies and shipyards on all sorts of naval ships from small Fast Patrol Boats through subs, Corvettes and Frigates up to LPDs, Heli and Escort Carriers. So I didn't have much time for model building (sounds better than 'Modelling' somehow 😁😲) or contributions to the site, but I did try to keep up to date with advances, as I always did in my profession - Naval COMMS systems - and dipped in and out of this site without getting involved.
Since I retired last year I have become an active member and have also dipped into, and registered with some, other Model Boat forums in various countries.
But in all of them I have never found such an international, friendly and knowledgable bunch as on this site. Or such a well organised site where it is 'relatively' easy to find the info you need, or to just ask and get informed answers pronto. Sure there is room for improvement in some areas but "Tempus fugit" and things move on - so is it also on this site.
I understand that a facelift and changes are afoot😉 whatever the outcome I'm sure you won't find a better web site for informed (bin there done that!) info on model boat / ship building as well as research on the original vessels this side of the asteroid belt!
Welcome aboard and Happy Building and Sailing,
All the best, cheers, Doug 😎

    Hello!
Joined a few days ago after retiring from abroad (18 years) and bringing my Krick "Victoria" down, from its well-cosseted storage in my loft. I put her together over 30 years ago... placed new batteries in the R/C... water, gas, squirt of oil on the engine, a long (lit) spill... and yippeeee!
    Just smartening her up now.
    A great site! Thank you

A place to seek advise and help. Also, a place to join a chat and help and advise others about the problems you overcame.
A good friendly place to find out what is going on around you and where you can join in.
Remember, there is no such thing as a "Stupid Question". We have all had that moment.
No one person has All the answers, but with all these members, someone will know the answer.
😁😜👍 May the Sun be Forever on your Face, and the Wind Forever on your Back.
    Love this Site.

I have been a member of the forum for just over a week.
I have to say that the help given by members is without limits. I am so pleased that I found these people. They enjoy the hobby and have no problem in sharing their knowledge and experiences even when they are busy with their own projects.
I built a Patrol Torpedo Boat many years ago and wanted to refurbish it. The changes in the hobby which have taken place in the twenty years since I built my boat have surprised me. My project has grown from just tidying up the deck to a complete replacement of the motor and control.
I now know that I can continue with the improvements knowing that there is a freindly helping hand just a few clicks away.
My thanks to you all, and in a few years time I hope to be able to help others.😊

I signed on in January this year and was amazed at how many projects are on the go.The advice that is being offered so freely
makes me feel good about this site. The quality of workmanship
that people are showing is amazing. As soon as my obligations are
completed I will get back to my building of the Model Slipway kit
    of the Shamrock.

I do a lot of wreck research and one of the reasons I joined was to find a sea plane tender that had picked up the pilot from a 1941 plane I had found underwater. I needed a photo of a similar boat but couldn't find the tender on the web. I mentioned it on here and back came a photo of the self same sea plane tender from RNMunich? That meant so much to me but I have been intrigued by the details and research modellers do on here. I felt so grateful that I donated to such a great site.

    Love this site
It's helped me out and saved me a packet when it comes to electrics (ESC) and brushless motors 👍
