I suppose I should sign the guestbook at long last. What a lovely friendly place is this forum. Second to none for the wealth of information one can receive. I feel that I have more friends on here than I do in real life. I hope I will meet some of you one day.

I suppose it's about time I 'signed the guest book' as I never got around to it way back in Jan 2016 when I first found this site.
Better late than never 😁
At that time I was re-discovering the model making interests of my youth, over four years on from there now and I'm really pleased I chose to become a member of this vibrant community.
Thank you all for making me feel so welcome and encouraging me to get building again.

Hello everyone....I was away fighting the big C for awhile. I like the new website, well done. I posted a some updates and am looking forward to getting back in the shop to get back at it. Still have to get a couple more fights on the hill, but will prevail. I left as a Fleet Admiral and hope to work my way up again. That must of been fun. I m sure you used a acme type thread with a wheel to open and close the rudder. Did you ever close it completely going forward and what affect did it have? I will try to take some photos of it this week end and post them on Monday. There are two servos used, one to open and close the rudder and another to steer. It looks like the reverse is about 30% the speed as going forward and the steering in reverse is unbelievable with a single screw.Liked by Martin555

Hi! everybody I would like to thank you all for the comments on my HMS Daring D05 and Bismark etc was afraid to wet her bottom in deep water at first but she sailed well a few weeks later at Exmouth in the Country Life park while out with Tone Vale Club Surprised that a lot of photos by people taken.
I'm sorry that I have not answered questions that have been asked about running gear but you know this retired pastime you do not seem to have time as building the HMS Hood and several things in the pipe line and on holiday with caravan but will get around to it sometime.
Thanks for hints and tips on the site etc.

Yesterday was a special day. Having been inspired by this website, I got my 34” Crash Tender back on the water for the first time in 45 years! I built it in the early 1970s. In those days it had a Diesel engine, and a home built 27MHz radio. Even the servos we home built from kits. Then I got married, bought a house, raised a family and the boat was confined to a shelf in the garage. How things have changed in 45 years.😁 I have equipped it with a brushless motor, Li-Po battery and 2.4GHz radio. Great to see it on the lake yesterday. Now I don’t have to worry about making it move with an unreliable motor and radio I can have a go at adding some scale fittings and fixtures. Never got round to that the first time. Nowadays I cannibalise them to use in special functions.
Tried and failed to make my own 27Meg TX back then☹️
Could probably figure out what was wrong now, having spent my working life on radio systems.
