I have just "rediscovered" the hobby I let slip almost 50 years ago. I was into fast, pointy noisy things back then, now my interest is electrified classics.

I have recently taken possession of a Sea Queen that needs attention. Then while looking for a Lesro Rapier I slipped up (didn't ask the size of the model in the adverts photo) and landed it's smaller Stiletto version.
Still on the hunt for a Rapier. I'm also hoping to find a Nor Star Wave Rider, so if anyone has any of those gathering dust, give me a shout ? Also on the wish list would be a Sea Commander and a Lesro Sportsman. Wow, that would be some fleet !

Anyway, glad I found this site, looks interesting. 👍

I'm also searching for old Model Boats issues to help fill in the long gap ???

      Hello Norway
It is actually the case on this homepage, I am also a newbie and I was really helped with tips and tricks. I also took my old models from 1985-90 out of the screed and ventured back to the old boats. .
      You'll see . . Really awesome here! 👍👍👍

    Hello,
As a bonafide certified "Newby", I really appreciate this site and all it has to offer. I signed up a little over 2 months ago, and didn't really get involved until the last couple of weeks. I am humbled by the quality of some of your builds, especially the complex ones that some have taken on as their first build.
This past summer, when I decided to give this hobby a try, I joined a local RC boat club (www.emyc.org) to get a feel for what model boating is all about. They are a great bunch of supportive people who encouraged me to jump in.
Not feeling that I have the skillset to attempt a full-on build, I set out to find boats in need of some TLC. Since then, by searching online ads, I have acquired several boats all of which have been stored and abused over the years. I have gotten a couple back to a "water ready" state (but not finished project status). I have acquired the parts to repair two more, and am still trying to figure out what to do with the worst shape boats. I jokingly refer to my "Fleet" as "The Island of Misfit Toys".
I am sure that I will be bugging all of you a lot in the future, seeking advice.
I have posted pictures in my Harbour, feel free to take a peek.

Hi Mike, and welcome to what must be as far as I am concerned the very best Model Boat Site that exists here on the internet. I am sure that you will find the members on here to be sociable, friendly, helpful, and full of excellent ideas when you get stuck with a problem or you require information on a specific problem. So my friend enjoy the ride as this site runs like a Swiss watch, and there is nothing wrong with your English, and you will fit in nicely. Regards, Gary.

Hi. I'm new here, lead astray by CashRC. I can't say that this site has helped me just yet as I just got here, though I expect it will be helpful with my boating activities as other fora have been for flying and audio addictions. At least I am addicted to hobbies and not drugs. 😆

I have been building and flying model planes for over 50 years, RC for almost 50. I added boats to my fleet several years ago, starting with sailboats and progressed to power.

Hi Martin. You may be crazy, I don't know you yet. I do know that Cash has more loose screws than a hardware store. 😃 He makes me look normal (I'm not).

I look forward to getting to know the crew around here.

I finished my Billings Smit Nederland after 30 years and finished my Dad’s Robbe Anjet fishing boat as a memory to him passing away, all in lockdown without accessing this site, wish I’d found it earlier I’m now building a SLEC RAF crash tender and members on this site have built some beautiful models providing inspiration, none of my boats have made it for their maiden voyage yet, fingers crossed 2021 will get them christened

      Hi Rover.
You have done some excellent work and i am sure that if your dad is looking down now he would be really pleased and proud of what you have achieved.

Good luck with your crash tender.

We all need help at sometime, and good friends will always give it freely.
Where else could we get such a wealth of information and help at no cost. From all around the world.
What a party/regatta we could have if we all managed to meet up.
Well done all of you for being there when we need you.
    Cheers Colin.

That would be a great party if only it could be arranged, but on a more serious note, I don't see why a meet up could not be arranged at one of the model boat exhibitions, Warwick or Blackpool for instance. I'm sure quite a few members go there, so why not a prearranged meeting time and place. This year is most likely to be out, but there's always next.

      Cheers, Nerys

I have just been sifting through the guestbook pages. Seen you remark about virtual meetings. There is a way now through ZOOM. I do not know how many people can join a meet but I know it could be more than 11. I had to go onto a M.S.A.C 😠😠 zoom meeting and there were 11 of us that was including the person that arranged the meeting.
