Another damaged fiberglass hull rescued. every thing else made by me. At 3/4"=1' a very big model. Completed 2012 but only sailed twice, a very good sailor just needs a big lake. The mast lifts & folds forward after removing the hatch. The top mast lowered, the bowsprit retracted and the sails raped around the shrouds, held in place with masking tape. ( this stops the lines from tangling.) Takes about 5 minutes to reassemble.

Bourbon Orca
Bourbon Orca is an anchor handling vessel based in Bergen.
The owners and builders wouldn't let me have a set of lines, so, I designed this myself on Delftship from photos available on the web.

The hull is plank on frame, driven by twin 900 size motors off 12v. She has an action twin esc and mixer which enables her to pivot on her own axis without the need to use the bowthruster

Scratchbuilt Mermaid from Keil Kraft Eezebilt plans
Following the legendary Keil Kraft Eezebilt plans for a Mermaid Ocean going boat. Plans exploded to 200%. Trying to build it completely out of Plywood and Foam Board.

OA Length 710 mm, Beam 180 mm. AUW 1.98Kgs.

She carries the name 'JAYSHIL". it is a portmanteau derived from the names of my late parents.

Model features working lights as prescribed by the international Maritime Authorities:

http://www.bosunsmate.org/seamanship/lights.php

In keeping with Rules 22 and 23:

http://www.bosunsmate.org/seamanship/rulesoftheroad.php#rule23

Brushed 550 motor, Reversible ESC, 2S LiPo, Turnigy Blue Prop, Working Lights and indigenous Sound Generator unit.

Video is available here: (you may need to turn down the volume a bit as the horn is rather loud)

I would welcome any queries and/or comments on this build.

Thanks and Regards,

VC

I can't seem to be able to modify or edit the earlier post. The 3rd. sentence should read as : Built out of plywood and foam board.

Kika - ex mystery Orange Hull
I've at last done something with my mystery Orange hull, featured earlier, whilst in St Lucia last year I saw a launch used as diving support with almost identical shape called 'KIKA' so that's what it had to be!
Power from an old 600 Johnson type motor with 7.5v battery and 20A ESC, with prop & running gear from my oddments box. Tried her at Mangerton Mill last week, she goes well but needs a more powerful ESC as 15A fuses blow at 3/4 power, also veneer deck has started to bubble - so work in progress really!

HMAS Fremantle
HMAS Fremantle (my first build and is still a work in progress) is a semI kit, hull and some fittings were supplied, most parts have been scratched built. She is powered by two MFA RE-385 5-Pole DC Motors, each controlled by a Mtroniks MicroViper Marine 10 ESC, supplied by one 6V 3.4 Ah lead acid battery, she has a running time of approx 90 minutes on the lake.

    Good Day Damon

Sorry I can't answer that, I've never used lipo's so I can't give you a comparison. I've never had any problems with the sealed lead acid batteries, and use them on all my boats, they also double as ballast, as I would rather use batteries that dead weight.

Hey there, nevermind thanks for getting back to me though, I am beginning to move away from lipo's now myself, its only because I use em on my planes & cars so I just put 1 & 1 together & came up with 11
    Cheers matey
