This is a Kitshack 46 inch Crash Tender. Nearly finished with a bit more detail yet to finish powered by 2 1400 kv brushless motors running on car speed controllers at 7.2 volt. Goes like stink! Has working rotatable fire monitors which are scratch built

It looks great - I am just starting to build one. Do you have any recommendations on the fire monitors? I am going to use Robbe and make them rotate.
Do you find the twin motors too much ?

I made my own from bits of tube and old coins for flanges. The nozzle is just sleeved down with progressively smaller tube till it squirted about right. Pump is a standard grapnel unit. Hopefully this link to a photo blog will work. https://picasaweb.google.com/102817163504371499744/RAFCrashTenderModelBoatBuildKitshack46InchVersion

Scratch built some years ago, powered by 6volt PB battery.
She was always very slow and hard to manoeuvre. She was made from MM plans. I could never get her to behave in the water. 27Mhz TX/RX. tried changing motor, prop 6 to 12 volts nothing seemed to make much difference, gave up in the end. You can't win them all.

SemI Kit, I.e fibreglass hull and superstructure and wooden rubbing strake all the rest is scratch built. A very good sailer and very stable. Quick to build only a month and powered by 540motor and 35mm prop. Lasted for hours on one charge.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a go. trouble is I've had the hull since 1982 so it's a bit out of date as Cygnus then started to produce the GM 33 Continental like yours. But I'm not beat yet, even if I have to end up making the wheelhouse from scratch ! 😰

100% scratch built model of the Toronto harbor Fireboat. Been in the making for almost five years now. When finished it will be RC and have water pumping capabilities. Toronto Fire Services are celebrating the boat's 50th anniversary this year and appear to be interested in my model. The boat will be powered by two Dumas six volt motors geared three to one.

This boat is scratch built on a Fiberglass Hull. The Lily was one of two ferries built in 1900. Her sister ship was the Rose.
The superstructure of the model is largely light-ply and paneled to resemble the orginal. She had an open top deck and as you can see the navigation pods were open to the weather.
A semaphore signal arm was included as radio was not yet used to communicate with each other on the Mersey.
The model is approx1/48 scale and built from a couple of photos and sketches that exist. She is powered by two 340 electric motors and controlled with 2.4ghz radio. A 12 volt battery gives the power. Both decks are individually planked.
She has sailed at Hoylake.

A scratch built model of a Gloucester USA fishing schooner 1900 era. Pine plank on frame, 2 channel radio with a Lego 9volt drive unit as sail winch controlled each way by servo and micro switches, the deck is planked on a thin ply sub-deck and deck openings are sealed with Vaseline. The deep keel slides up into a box through the keel and secured with a bolt.

HI Lubberland,
A boat after my own heart! Looks really good. Like the level of detail, even if you can't see it on the water. Which sails are controlled by the winch?
How successful is the sailing peformance with all that sail area aft?
Regards,
Cap'n Jim.

HI there Cap'n Jim, Glad you like it. The sails are all controlled by the winch line round the after deck. I'll try to post some pics soon, Cheers, Lubber.

thanks for your comments , if you need any help with your build, you only have to shout, keep to wood. 👍 and I am a real believer in card board on some of the deck work, allways give it a coat of resin 👍 it has taken me a lifetime to get where I am now and have never lost a boat yet with the materials I use.

This model of the tourist attraction in Liverpool a few years ago.Sadly after a couple of mishaps all four have been withdrawn from service. The model however survives. it was scratch built from photos and site visits by myself (Max Ferrie). There were no plans available. it is about 28inches long and roughly 1/12 scale. It was built almost entirely from plywood. As you will see from video it operates on land and water. it is six wheel drive using differentials on all wheels. When in water it is prop drive. it has two small electric motors for power, the wheel drive being very low gearing (too low really it goes very slow on ground). it was completed in 2010, and is filmed sailing at the portable pond at Toys For Boys in Waterloo in 2010. it has sailed at Hoylake MBC also.
It is powered by two 6volt 4AH batteries in series to give 12volts.

As a regular traveller on the Woodchurch I would suggest your model is a very realistic representation. Paint wise the real boat was far from clean or well painted and in places the rust was all to evident.
It was a well loved and trusty vessel and I am sure I am not alone in having many happy memories of cross river trips on her and her sister ferries.
